Shark Valley Tour

The Shark Valley area is
home to a diverse number
of animals and plants. The
various species change with
the seasons and water levels
throughout the year. As a
result, every journey through
the Everglades offers a different
experience for visitors.
VillageWalk and VeronaWalk will be heading to Shark
Valley, the Everglades National Park on Tuesday,
March 19, 2013. We will depart from VillageWalk at
7:00 a.m. (check in at 6:45 a.m.) After our hour and
a half tram tour, we will visit the Oasis Visitor Center
and stop for lunch. You will have a choice between
Turkey & Swiss on Whole Wheat or Ham & American
Cheese on White Bread, chips, cookie, piece of
fruit and beverage. Please let us know what you will
be having for lunch at time of reservation. After lunch
we will visit the Clyde Butcher’s Big Cypress Gallery
where you can view and purchase the incredible work
of this photographer and take a walk on the nature trail
located behind the gallery. Like the work of Ansel
Adams, Clyde Butcher’s remarkable photographs give
us an access to the nature we rarely see or experience.
Your day includes: all of the above, continental breakfast
en-route and a snack and drink on the way home.
Make sure to wear comfortable clothing and shoes and
please bring sunscreen and bug spray! Don’t forget
your camera! All reservations must be received by
Monday, March 11. Cost is $59.00 per person.

on bus, shopping time and dinner (on own) at Bayside
Marketplace in Miami prior to game. Cost is $130 per
person. $5 per person collected at check in for driver

A day of discovery
and adventure! Hop
on the bus as we head
South to Homestead
for an incredible
day. Enjoy a light
breakfast (muffin, fruit
& juice) on the bus
and before you know
it we are at our first stop…The Coral Castle! We will
tour this sculpture garden made in stone, built by one
man, Edward Leedskalnin. From 1923 to 1951, Ed
single-handedly and secretly carved over 1,100 tons
of coral rock, and his unknown process has created
one of the world’s most mysterious accomplishments.
To this day, no one knows how Ed created the Coral
Castle. Built under the cover of night and in secret,
at a time when there were no modern construction
conveniences, Ed would only say that he knew “the
secret of the pyramids.” Features of the Coral Castle
Museum include a 9-ton gate that moves with just a
touch of the finger, a Polaris telescope and functioning
rocking chairs – all made entirely of stone. The Coral
Castle is an everlasting mystery to those who explore
it. Following the Castle we stop for lunch at the Golden
Coral in Florida City that features a salad bar with 50+
items, multiple entrées, vegetables, starches and dessert
(includes tax, gratuity and beverage). Then we are back
on the bus for a docent led tour of RF Orchids owner,
Robert Fuchs, Private Tropical Garden! RF Orchids
is the largest grower of Orchids in SWFL and is the
recipient of national and international awards. With
over 50 years experience and array of beautiful orchids,
this is a must see. Our final stop of the day is the
Schnebly Redland’s Winery & Brewery where you will
enjoy a private tour and your choice of a wine tasting
(best selling reds and whites) or micro-brewed beer
tastings (Stout, Lager, Wheat Ale and IPA). You must
indicate your choice of tasting at sign up. The cost of
this incredible day is only $79 and is inclusive of: bus,
light continental en route, admission to Coral Castle,
lunch, tropical gardens tour, winery tour and tasting
and snack on way home. RSVP required by February
