Remote Sensing and GIS Project on Integrated Land<br />

<strong>Management</strong> and Administrative Planning (ILMAP) in<br />

Manipur State: On pilot basis, this has been initiated<br />

in the State of Manipur associating the Manipur<br />

Remote Sensing Application Centre (MARSAC),<br />

to develop and implement Integrated Land<br />

<strong>Management</strong> and Administrative Planning (ILMAP)<br />

on a pilot scale in one district for improving land<br />

resource management and delivery system.<br />

System design and hardware procurement has<br />

been completed and application software is under<br />

testing.<br />

Development of GIS based Integrated Infrastructure,<br />

Resource and Utility, Planning & <strong>Management</strong> system<br />

(IIRUPM) for Assam State: On pilot basis initiated<br />

the Integration of information with all the attribute<br />

data of Government Line departments including<br />

resources such as forest, fisheries, water bodies,<br />

municipalities, health, education, employment,<br />

public utilities, etc., and development of Decision<br />

Support system. This is being implemented by<br />

AMTRON, Assam. Six modules out of eleven have<br />

been developed.<br />

Decision Support System to Udhagamandalam<br />

District, The Nilgiris) is conceptualized to build GIS<br />

data layers at micro level with all attributes relevant<br />

to them and with number of end-user modules are<br />

to be hosted in WEB environment accessible by<br />

district authorities using GPS data capturing survey<br />

and Remote Sensing data processing technique<br />

through Digital Image Processing and Digital<br />

Photogrammetric methods for Hill Area<br />

Development. This is being implemented by<br />

Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli. Spatial<br />

Decision Support System has been developed and<br />

is under testing.<br />

Remote Sensing and GIS Application for Chennai City on<br />

e-Governance Aspect: This has been initiated for the<br />

development of interactive database information<br />

system and formulation & design of rapid visual<br />

screening procedure based on seismic hazard<br />

map on web. This is being implemented by Anna<br />

University, Chennai. Inception report has been<br />

prepared.<br />

Initiated on pilot basis for development of special<br />

database and Integration of information with all<br />

the attribute data of Government Line departments<br />

including natural resources such as forest, water<br />

bodies, etc. and also development of a web-based<br />

data dissemination system. System requirement<br />

specification has been prepared and application<br />

software development activities under progress.<br />

Development of Digital Land Resource <strong>Information</strong><br />

System for Integrated Land <strong>Management</strong> for Mizoram<br />

State: On pilot basis initiated for development of<br />

special database and Integration of information<br />

with all the attribute data of Government Line<br />

departments including natural resources such as<br />

forest, water bodies, etc., and also development of<br />

a web-based data dissemination system. System<br />

requirement specification has been prepared and<br />

hardware procurement is under process.<br />

HILLARIS-(Hill Area Resource <strong>Information</strong> System using<br />

Geographic <strong>Information</strong> Technologies): A Spatial<br />

A holistic approach is followed to secure Indian<br />

Cyber Space. The approach includes R&D, legal<br />

framework, security incidents - early warning and<br />

response, best security policy compliance &<br />

assurance, International cooperation and<br />

security training. It focuses on capacity<br />

development, strengthening of process<br />

framework and development of technology<br />

through R&D programme and implementation of<br />

early watch and warning mechanism for Cyber<br />

Security incident prevention, response and<br />

mitigation.<br />

R&D initiative is aimed at promotion of basic<br />

research, technology demonstration, proof of<br />

concept along with indigenous development of<br />

technology in the area of Cyber Security. The<br />

programme also includes establishment of test bed<br />

projects for enhancing indigenous skills and<br />

capabilities in the area of information security. The<br />

R&D programme is carried out by implementing<br />

major initiatives with the help of R&D organizations.<br />

Thrust areas of research and development identified<br />

include Cryptography and cryptanalysis; Network<br />
