Group Health and Related <strong>Benefits</strong><br />
Available to employees who work 30 or more hours weekly; Employee eligibility is first of the<br />
month following the date of hire<br />
‣ Comprehensive group medical, dental and prescription drug plan:<br />
• Employees only pay copays for physician and hospital services when treated or seen at<br />
the <strong>MUSC</strong> <strong>Medical</strong> <strong>Center</strong> or by <strong>MUSC</strong> <strong>Physicians</strong> or <strong>MUSC</strong> <strong>Physicians</strong> <strong>Primary</strong> <strong>Care</strong><br />
providers<br />
• Prescription drugs are covered after copay. Three tier drug plan –<br />
Generic/Preferred/Non-Preferred<br />
• Dental plan included – Preventive cleanings covered at 100%; calendar year maximum<br />
of $1,200<br />
‣ Company paid long-term disability plan:<br />
• Staff - 66 2/3% salary replacement benefit of pre-disability income<br />
• Senior Management – 60% salary replacement benefit of pre-disability income<br />
‣ Staff Life insurance (one times annual salary – limit $50,000) is provided at no cost to<br />
employees<br />
‣ Senior Management Life Insurance of $250,000 provided for employees whose salary is<br />
over $100,000<br />
‣ Additional life insurance is available for employees, spouses and dependent children.<br />
‣ Short-term disability, vision, and additional life insurance policies are also available<br />
‣ Flexible Spending Accounts:<br />
• <strong>Medical</strong> Reimbursement Account - $2,500 annual maximum<br />
• Dependent <strong>Care</strong> Reimbursement - $5,000 annual maximum<br />
Retirement<br />
‣ Defined Contribution Retirement Plan 401(k) – immediate eligibility<br />
‣ Safe Harbor Contribution – 3% employer contribution that is 100% vested<br />
‣ Employer booster for non-physician employees is 8%, 5% for physicians<br />
‣ Fully vested after five years of employment<br />
‣ Employees can contribute up to $17,500 ($23,000 if employee is age 50 over over)<br />

Time-Off <strong>Benefits</strong><br />
‣ Paid Time Off (PTO) - Provides flexibility in scheduling time off for vacation, holidays,<br />
personal business, preventive health and dental care, and short-term sick leave or family<br />
needs.<br />
‣ Extended Sick Leave (ESL) - Can be used during prolonged periods of personal illness or<br />
disability.<br />
‣ PTO must be used for first 24 work hours for each occurrence of illness or disability, except<br />
for hospital admissions or procedures involving anesthesia or sedation.<br />
