Organization<br />

PIMA ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS, a 501(c)4, is a<br />

metropolitan planning organization with members from local,<br />

state and tribal governments. PAG has Transportation Planning,<br />

Sustainable Environment and Technical Services divisions, supported<br />

by a communications department and human resources department.<br />

Major planning projects include the long-range Regional Transportation<br />

Plan (RTP) and the five-year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).<br />

PAG also manages the 20-year Regional Transportation Authority, which was<br />

approved by Pima County voters in May 2006. The $2.1 billion RTA plan has<br />

safety, roadway, transit, and environmental and economic vitality elements. More than<br />

500 projects have been completed to date. PAG also is the federally designated lead planning<br />

agency for Water Quality Management, Air Quality and Solid Waste. PAG also manages the Clean<br />

Cities program, as designated by the U.S. Department of Energy.
