usually involve people who have some signs or<br />
symptoms of cancer.<br />
Quality of life, or supportive care, trials explore ways<br />
to improve comfort and quality of life for cancer patients.<br />
Patient participation is key to the success of cancer<br />
research. Patients who participate in clinical trials play a<br />
critical role in the development of advancements in the<br />
treatment of cancer. “We are honored that our patients<br />
participate in research. Curing all cancer is the ultimate<br />
goal of clinical trials. Hopefully, each trial they participate<br />
in will get us one step closer to finding a cure for<br />
cancer,” states Luke Dreisbach, MD, Chairman of<br />
Clinical Cooperative Research Work Group at <strong>Eisenhower</strong><br />
<strong>Medical</strong> <strong>Center</strong>.<br />
Since 2006, the clinical research program at<br />
<strong>Eisenhower</strong> Lucy Curci <strong>Cancer</strong> <strong>Center</strong> has received<br />
commendations, the highest honor, during the<br />
tri-annual American College of Surgeons <strong>Cancer</strong><br />
<strong>Center</strong> Survey. The clinical research program has been<br />
recognized for providing patients with information<br />
about cancer-related clinical trials and enrolling our<br />
patients in screening, prevention or treatment trials.<br />
<strong>Eisenhower</strong> Lucy Curci <strong>Cancer</strong> <strong>Center</strong>’s pursuits in<br />
clinical research ensure that our patients receive the<br />
five-star treatment they have come to expect from<br />
