Through their remarkable generosity, the Eisenhower Lucy Curci Cancer Center was established and has been nurtured over the past 10 years by impassioned supporters. “Our family has received the greatest possible joy by helping give people hope at a time when they feel most vulnerable.” John L. Curci The Philanthropic Timeline of Excellence pays respect to those who made early transformational gifts to plan and build the Cancer Center, as well as the visionaries of today who reinforce the pursuit of excellence. We are also mindful of, and grateful for, the many gifts of all amounts that support the dedicated staff serving those who come to the Medical Center for their care. Eisenhower is honored to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Eisenhower Lucy Curci Cancer Center, which was made possible by the dedication of donors who enable our physicians and staff to have the privilege of serving our patients with the finest possible facilities and technologies. Excellence in medicine at Eisenhower is accelerated through the generous spirit of many men and women — and with every birthday celebrated, our patients are grateful. 3
E I S E N H O W E R L U C Y C U R C I C A N C E R C E N T E R Philanthropic Timeline of Excellence 1998 2001 2001, 2003 2004 1998 NOVEMBER Joy and Harry Goldstein make a significant gift to the Eisenhower Capital Campaign and receive recognition with the naming of the Joy and Harry Goldstein Cancer Resource Center. 2001 APRIL John Curci Family Foundation pledges a transformational gift to the Eisenhower Capital Campaign for the Cancer Center. 2001 JUNE William and Cydney Osterman pledge a major gift to the Eisenhower Capital Campaign allocated for the Cancer Center. 2001 OCTOBER The H.N. and Frances C. Berger Foundation makes a substantial gift to the Eisenhower Capital Campaign for the Cancer Center and receives recognition in the naming of the H.N. and Frances C. Berger Auditorium. 2003 JANUARY The John Curci Family Foundation pledges a second transformational gift for the Cancer Center. This extraordinary gift — together with the donation in 2001— are recognized in the naming of the Cancer Center for John’s wife, Lucy, in honor of friends who have battled cancer. 2004 FEBRUARY Eisenhower Lucy Curci Cancer Center dedication. 2004 JUNE The Schnitzer/Novack Foundation pledges a leadership gift that is recognized with the naming of the Eisenhower Schnitzer/Novack Breast Center. 4
