reported on <strong>Town</strong> Hall Youth baseball for the week of<br />

May 28.<br />

T-Ball League<br />

On Tuesday, May 29, the Rotary Padres played the<br />

<strong>Idyllwild</strong> Professional<br />

Cleaning Service White<br />

Sox. The Padres Easton<br />

Pramuka had a couple<br />

nice hits for her<br />

team. Logan Wilkerson<br />

played great for the<br />

White Sox going after<br />

the ball in the field and<br />

getting a couple nice<br />

hits.<br />

On Friday the Rotar<br />

y Padres played<br />

again, this time taking<br />

on the American<br />

Legion Dodgers. The<br />

Dodgers played great.<br />

Rylan Righetti played<br />

awesome hitting and<br />

f i e l d i n g t h e b a l l .<br />

Jayden Fogle played<br />

great at first base and<br />

got a couple nice hits<br />

for the Dodgers.<br />

The game Saturday was between the American Legion<br />

Dodgers and the <strong>Idyllwild</strong> Professional Cleaning Service<br />

White Sox. The White Sox Teagan Baraty had a super<br />

game getting a couple nice hits. Revin Muir played great<br />

for the Dodgers going after<br />

the ball in the field and making<br />

a couple nice plays.<br />

Minor League<br />

In Tuesday’s second<br />

game, the Shell Astros took<br />

on the Suburban Propane<br />

Rangers, who got off to<br />

a hot start. The Rangers<br />

scored three runs in the<br />

first inning. Brody Posey<br />

and Reese Whitney hits<br />

led to Rangers’ runs. For<br />

the Astros, Manuel Guzman<br />

and Lilliana Sorenson<br />

contributed key hits as<br />

they came back and scored<br />

enough runs late in the<br />

game to win 12-5.<br />

On Saturday the Shell<br />

Astros met the <strong>Idyllwild</strong><br />

Inn Diamondbacks. The<br />

D-Backs immediately got<br />

their bats swinging. In the<br />

first inning, they scored<br />

five runs. Fiona McMullen<br />

scored one her two runs<br />

in the inning. Seth White<br />

played great defense in the<br />

outfield stopping a couple<br />

big hits in the game. The<br />

Astros trailed late in the<br />

game, but didn’t give up. In<br />

the final inning, the Astros<br />

scored six runs to tighten<br />

the game. Henry Mendoza<br />

got a big hit to keep the inning<br />

alive; but the D-Backs<br />

finally got the last out and<br />

won the game 13-10.<br />

Major League<br />

The first Majors’ game<br />

of the week was Friday,<br />

June 1, when the Whoolie’s<br />

Orioles played the Higher<br />

Grounds Rays. The Orioles<br />

got off to a great start in<br />

the first inning as Bryan<br />

Mabery scored the first of<br />

three runs in the inning. Joey<br />

Neu played great getting on<br />

base a couple times. Jake<br />

Mabery started the game<br />

pitching great and finished<br />

the game strong as the Orioles<br />

won 8-4.<br />

On Saturday, the<br />

Whoolie’s Orioles played<br />

again, this time against the<br />

Green Cafe Cubs. In the<br />

best game of the year in the<br />

majors, both teams pitched,<br />

hit and fielded the ball great<br />

all game long.<br />

The Cubs’ Jake Gurling<br />

pitched awesome all game long and Jadon Meskimen played<br />

great in the field as he snaged a short fly ball at first base.<br />

Lainie Wilke, of the Orioles, got her first hit of the year<br />

and teammate Nicola Sabin<br />

made a nice fielding play at second base tagging a runner<br />

out early in the game. As the teams entered the last inning,<br />

the game was tied 1-1. The Cubs scored to take a one run<br />

lead. Then the Orioles fought back. Seth Clowers got his<br />

third hit of the game and came around to score the winning<br />

run on Tobin Ale’s hit. The Orioles came back and won an<br />

exciting 3-2 game in the last inning.<br />
