TDMA Control Channels • The IS-136 specification incorporates separate control channels for the digital system. • These are called Digital control Channels (DCCH) to distinguish them from the older type. • Digital control channels consist of pairs of slots on the same RF channels that are used for voice. • The DCCH can be assigned to any RF channel; it does not have to be one of the 21 control channels used in the analog system.
