Engadin St. Moritz 

Engadin St. Moritz is offering visitors an irresistibly simple and attractive deal 

from this winter season – the first of its kind from any Swiss holiday region. 

With the Ski pass included offer, hotel guests have full access to 350 kilometres 

(217 miles) of superbly prepared slopes, three snow parks and 57 ski lifts, 

along with 34 mountain restaurants with their inspiring sun terraces – and 

of course the region’s spectacular natural landscapes. Free travel on public 

transport in the Upper Engadin is also included in the offer. This innovative 

step by the hoteliers means that guests staying for at least two nights at any of 

the participating hotels can obtain a lift pass for the duration of their stay for 

just CHF 25.- per person/day. This new offer is available throughout the entire 

winter season, from 20 October 2012 until 20 May 2013. More than 100 hotels 

of all categories have committed to this scheme, underscoring once again the 

pioneering role played by Engadin St. Moritz in Swiss tourism. The region also 

has a variety of attractive offers for cross-country skiers and guests staying in 

holiday apartments. 

The 13 resorts of the Upper Engadin are as rich in contrasts as they are varied. 

Scintillating St. Moritz is famous worldwide for its sublime location, its calendar 

of glamorous and thrilling events, its top-class hotels and restaurants, its 

seductive shopping with world-famous labels, and its legendary “champagne 

climate”. Meanwhile, the twelve other picturesque and inspiring resorts 

celebrate tradition and foster an authentic rural charm – as well as host a 

variety of high-calibre sporting and cultural events. Connecting the resorts, 

and extending into the glorious surrounding landscape, are 200 kilometres 

(124 miles) of cross-country ski trails and 150 kilometres (93 miles) of winter 

walking paths. With such variety on offer, it is no wonder that Engadin St. 

Moritz has been honoured in different categories by the authoritative “ADAC 

SkiGuide” and is also the winner of a prestigious British Travel Award. St. Moritz 

is delighted, too, to be hosting the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2017.

A WINTER WONDERLAND FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT 

Snow-covered slopes sparkling in the sun and a wide, high valley, bewitch- 

ing in its multifaceted beauty. In short: an absolute snow sports paradise. The 

sun-blessed Upper Engadin has repeatedly been designated by the authoritative 

ADAC ski guides as the Alpine ski region with the greatest variety. After 

staging four Alpine World Ski Championships and two Winter Olympic Games, 

St. Moritz is proud to have been chosen by the International Ski Federation (FIS) 

to host the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in 2017. In addition, Graubünden 

is bidding with St. Moritz and Davos to host the 2022 Winter Olympics. In the 

four large ski areas of Corviglia/Piz Nair, Corvatsch, Diavolezza/Lagalb and Zuoz, 

as well as in five other small but special areas, winter sports fans have 350km 

(217 miles) of slopes waiting to be explored. Every skier and snowboarder, from 

beginner up to expert level, can find perfect slopes to suit their ability. Thanks 

to the high altitude and the modern artificial snowmaking facilities, Engadin 

St. Moritz is snow-sure. Throughout the area, 34 mountain restaurants cater 

to visitors’ physical wellbeing, offering mouth-watering gastronomic variety. 

Another attraction is the early start of the winter season. Up on the Diavolezza, 

snow sports fans can indulge their passion as early as 20 October 2012.

Snow activities with a difference 

The extensive choice of activities on snow guarantees great variety. For exam- 

ple, Corvatsch Snow Night on Friday evenings promises a party atmosphere 

and the chance to tackle the longest floodlit slope in Switzerland – a unique 

night-time thrill for skiers and snowboarders alike. 

You can also ski or snowboard all day long without ever repeating a single 

slope: the Snow Safari offers the chance to explore the variety of several different 

snow sports areas in one day. Meanwhile “Glüna Plaina”, which means 

“full moon” in Romansh, is a thrilling evening event that starts with a delicious 

meal at the summit restaurant on the Diavolezza, before you glide in the silvery 

moonlight down deserted slopes to the valley. 

ChilloutRiding is a new concept that combines relaxing, enjoying nature and 

having fun. The Engadin St. Moritz region is ideally suited in this respect, and 

the Paradiso slope up in the Suvretta ski area on the Corviglia has been designated 

a special chillout slope.

Corvatsch/Furtschellas: From 

Silvaplana-Surlej, an impressive, large 

cable car glides in just a few minutes 

up to the Corvatsch snow sports area, 

where the pistes are directly linked 

with those of the Furtschellas area 

above Sils. As well as the demanding 

9 km (5.5-mile) run down to the 

valley, there is a wide choice of runs 

of various levels of difficulty to suit 

all skiers and snowboarders. The 

new cable car serving the second 

section of the ascent takes you to the 

Corvatsch summit station at an 

altitude of 3,303m (10,837ft). Altogether, 

14 ski lifts and 10 mountain restaurants 

provide ample variety.

Muottas Muragl The breathtaking views from the top station of the Muot- 

tas Muragl funicular are a highlight of any visit to the region. The ride up on 

the nostalgic funicular, more than 100 years old, takes just ten minutes. After 

a winter walk along the magnificent Philosophers’ Trail or a snowshoe hike 

along the romantic snowshoe trail, you can relax at the Romantik Hotel Muottas 

Muragl. This is the first plus-energy hotel in the Alps (the hotel generates more 

energy than it consumes), and is the winner of the Milestone environmental 

award, the Swiss Solar Award 2011 and the PlusEnergie-Bau ® (PEB) Solar Award 

2011. You can also rest or even spend the night in the new igloo village. A thrilling 

ride down to the valley is offered by the legendary toboggan run (toboggans

A WINTER WONDERLAND FOR FAMILIES 

For families, the Engadin St. Moritz region is winter holiday heaven. A compre- 

hensive range of activities especially for children guarantees days filled with 

fun. Family-friendly hotels offer special surprises for their younger guests, 

while the cosy holiday apartments are designed to be particularly child-friendly: 

wherever families choose to stay, they are sure to feel at home.

A particularly good deal for families on a ski or snowboard holiday is the family 

lift pass. This grants extra discounts on top of the already reduced child rate. In 

other ways, too, the Upper Engadin has a tremendous amount to offer younger 

visitors. Attractions include the two cool Kids Parks (Salastrains in the St. Moritz/ 

Corviglia ski area and Provulèr above Celerina); Pontresina Children’s Ski World; 

children’s ski and snowboard courses at the various snow sports schools in the 

region; and the Snowli children’s restaurant at the bottom of the Celerina-Marguns 

gondola in Celerina, which is totally geared to children’s needs. 

Rides up to the ski area do not need to be scary for younger guests, thanks to 

the child-friendly 4-seater chair lifts of Tschainas in Celerina and Chastlatsch 

in Zuoz. There is more variety and fun on offer at the children’s cinema in Sils, 

which shows popular children’s films free of charge, and at the National Park 

Visitor Centre in Zernez, where the whole family can find out all about the 

fascinating flora and fauna of the only Swiss National Park. One resort that is 

especially popular with families is Maloja, with its many child-friendly and 

family-friendly services. These facilities include a second-hand shop for children’s 

articles, pizza-baking courses for children and babysitter services, bookable 

through the appropriate Tourist Information office. The nearby children’s 

ski area with drag lift promises endless snowy fun for youngsters.

Clip on a pair of the long, narrow skis to glide through the vast open spaces of 

the Upper Engadin, and enjoy this spectacular landscape in all its many facets. 

Whether you prefer the elegant classic or more dynamic skating style, you will 

find that Nordic skiing acquires a new dimension on the 200 varied kilometres 

(124 miles) of trails here. It is no surprise, then, that year after year around 12,000 

cross-country ski enthusiasts make the pilgrimage to the valley of light to take 

part in the world-famous Engadin Ski Marathon. The next race takes place on 

10 March 2013. Those for whom 21 km (13 miles) of cross-country trails are sufficient 

can do a half-marathon, following the same course from Maloja as far as 

Pontresina. A week before the great gathering, on 3 March 2013, women racers 

compete on the traditional 17km (10.5 mile) Women’s Run.

Why not discover the huge variety of trails for yourself? The 42 km (26-mile) 

Marathon route and the trail from Zuoz to Zernez are attractive too. Or perhaps 

you prefer the romantic side valleys? Skiing across the celebrated frozen lakes 

of the Engadin is a unique pleasure, as is a circuit of the Alp Bondo high trail 

up on the Bernina Pass at the beginning or end of the season. There is further 

variety, too, in the form of night-skiing on floodlit trails. A trail map is available 

from the local Tourist Information office, as well as from sales points along 

the trails. 

When it comes to planning your own cross-country activities and improving 

your technique, you can choose from a host of attractive offers: everything 

from lessons in skating technique and preparatory courses for the Marathon or

Snowshoe trekking 

With snowshoes on your feet, you are free to explore the pristine forests and 

the snow-blanketed plateaus – a magical sensation, and the ideal alternative 

for those seeking tranquillity and adventure off the beaten track. The choice 

is enormous. Among fans, Maloja has made a name for itself in recent years 

as a paradise for snowshoeing in the Engadin. Madulain, meanwhile, offers 

an idyllic evening snowshoe hike followed by a fondue dinner in a cosy alpine 

hut. Another varied tour is the snowshoe trail from the Furtschellas/La Chüdera 

middle station to the Osteria Rabgiusa restaurant. And up on Muottas Muragl, 

the snowshoe trail offers superb views of the Val Muragl, the Val Champagna, 

the Bernina massif and the lake-strewn plateau of the Upper Engadin.

Snowkiting 

Snowkiting is like kitesurfing, only on skis or a snowboard. On the frozen Lake 

Silvaplana, you glide over the snow pulled by a kite powered by the Maloja 

wind. An insider’s secret among fans, meanwhile, is the frozen Lago Bianco up 

on the Bernina Pass. The Swiss Kitesurf School in Silvaplana offers a variety of 

single and multi-day courses for beginners, intermediates and experts. 

Ice sports 

Every village in the Engadin has an ice rink where both locals and guests can 

skate, play ice hockey, or have a curling match. Some are also floodlit and open 

in the evening. The local Tourist Information office can provide details of opening 

times, admission prices, where to hire skates and other equipment, and 

courses in ice skating and curling. 

Ice climbing 

The region is a paradise for ice climbers, thanks to frozen waterfalls such as 

those in the Pontresina gorge and at the Corn da Diavolezza. These offer experienced 

climbers spectacular ascents of up to 100m (330ft). The Pontresina 

Mountaineering School runs courses from beginner to advanced level. In February 

2013 members of the international ice-climbing community come together at 

the Ice Climbing Festival for a series of contests, talks and tests.

A WHITE WONDERLAND 

Winter walking 

The Engadin St. Moritz holiday region has 150km (93 miles) of paths and trails 

waiting to be explored. For a well-deserved rest, you can stop off at one of the 

many cosy cafés and restaurants along the way. On a stroll across the frozen 

Engadin lakes, you really appreciate the great expanse of the high valley and, 

especially at sunset, the magical quality of light in the Engadin. The flat winter 

walking paths from Maloja to Silvaplana and on to St. Moritz are perfect for 

families – depending on snow conditions, with pushchairs, too. For a particularly 

picturesque winter walk, follow the path from Sils into the romantic Val Fex, or 

from Maloja through the snow-blanketed forest to the frozen Lake Cavloccio. 

From Pontresina you can also enjoy extended hikes into the magnificent Val 

Roseg or the majestic Val Morteratsch. Those setting their sights higher can follow 

the Philosophers’ Trail up on Muottas Muragl. Along this idyllic winter walking 

trail, seats furnished with woollen blankets encourage walkers to linger 

in contemplation.

Tobogganing 

The toboggan run from Muottas Muragl promises a very special thrill. The start 

lies at 2,456m (8,058ft), and the route comprises 20 curves and high-speed 

straights, guaranteeing an exciting and ever-changing ride, that finally comes to 

an end at the bottom station of the funicular railway, after covering an altitude 

difference of 705m (2,213ft). Throughout the valley, the various villages offer 

many other opportunities for having fun on a toboggan. 

Our tip: Combine a descent of the toboggan run on Muottas Muragl with a 

glorious winter walk along the Philosophers’ Trail beforehand. In between, you 

can enjoy a relaxing lunch on the sun terrace of the first plus-energy hotel in 

the Alps. While the adults enjoy the superb views, youngsters can have fun in 

the children’s playground. Visitors can also stop for a drink at the neighbouring 

igloo village – or even spend the night there. 

Horse-drawn sleigh rides 

Anyone preferring a rather gentler day out can enjoy a romantic ride in a 

horse-drawn sleigh, exploring the landscape of frozen lakes or the idyllic side 

valleys. You can arrange rides directly with the sleigh drivers; the local Tourist 

Information office can provide details of what is on offer.

SPECIAL EXCURSION IDEAS 

UNESCO World Heritage In July 2008, UNESCO added the “Rhaetian Railway in 

the Albula/Bernina landscapes” to its list of World Heritage sites. The Albula and 

Bernina lines are technically innovative examples showing how the high-lying 

Alpine region was opened up – and together offer one of the most spectacular 

narrow-gauge railway rides in the world. 

Bernina Express From St. Moritz, the red train climbs in tight curves, past 

walls of snow and the Bernina massif with its glaciers, up to the Bernina Pass at 

2,253m (7,408ft). It then descends through the Valposchiavo, with its southerly 

atmosphere, on its way to the palm trees of Tirano in Italy.

Glacier Express Experience a spectacular journey right across the breath- 

taking Swiss Alps, all the way from St. Moritz to Zermatt. En route you can enjoy 

a freshly prepared lunch served at your seat, as you watch the mountains glide 

past the large panoramic windows. 

Alp Grüm full-moon trip See the Bernina line in a different light. You travel 

in a panoramic carriage on a special Rhaetian Railway train from St. Moritz to 

Alp Grüm, where drinks and a glacier fondue are served. On the journey back, 

you enjoy the sight of the magnificent mountain scenery, brightly lit by the full 

moon. 

Excursions by PostBus The picturesque village of Soglio in the Val Bregaglia is 

one of many delightful destinations that you can reach comfortably in a yellow 

postal bus. PostBuses can also bring you in comfort to the Italian market town 

of Chiavenna or, if you take the Palm Express, along Lake Como to Lugano. 

A bird’s-eye view of the Engadin See the highest peaks of the Eastern Alps so 

close you could almost touch them – on an unforgettable flight over the Bernina 

massif in a helicopter. If you like to feel the wind in your face as you fly, you 

might prefer a tandem hang-glider or paraglider descent: gentler, but no 

less memorable. Information on tandem hang-glider and paraglider flights is 

available at the local Tourist Information office. 

Preda–Bergün toboggan adventure The Rhaetian Railway’s special toboggan 

excursion combines a ride on the world-famous Albula line with unforgettable 

fun on runners. First, you ride the train as it twists and turns through tunnels 

and over viaducts up to dizzying heights. At Preda, at 1,800m (5,900ft), you 

ride your toboggan down to Bergün: 5 exhilarating kilometres (3 miles), with 

at least as many curves as the legendary railway line – only more thrilling still, 

with the snow spraying all around you.

The remarkable climate of the Engadin 

The invigorating climate of the Engadin is a consequence of the valley’s location 

high in the Alps. Experts describe it matter-of-factly as a dry, continental climate. 

As variations in temperature between day and night are as great as those 

between summer and winter, conditions are superb. The snow that falls lingers, 

making for a white fairy-tale landscape all through the winter, while the dry 

cold provides powder conditions rivalled only by those in the Rocky Mountains. 

Yet the weather is glorious: in this southerly mountain valley, the sun shines on 

average 320 days a year.

The Engadin lakes 

In winter, the lakes of the Engadin valley freeze over and are covered by a thick 

blanket of snow – adding to the sense of boundless freedom that this high 

valley inspires. They offer visitors a beautiful setting for winter walks, crosscountry 

skiing and snowkiting, and provide a dramatic venue for exclusive 

events, such as the spectacular St. Moritz Polo World Cup on Snow, the legendary 

White Turf horse races and the traditional Engadin Ski Marathon. 

Snow crystals 

A combination of low temperatures, dry air and snow makes everything in the 

Upper Engadin glitter. On particularly cold, sunny days, the air appears to be 

full of millions of tiny diamonds, sparkling in the sunlight. Curious phenomena 

take place on the ground, too – for example in the Val Trupchun. As the sun 

rarely reaches the valley floor in winter, the snow crystals grow to up to 4 

centimetres (2 inches) across – and glisten magically. 

White giants: the glaciers of the Engadin 

Among the highlights of the magnificent Alpine landscape of the Upper Engadin 

are 173 glaciers. Draped regally around the highest peaks in the Eastern Alps, 

they extend for more than 40 sq. km (15 sq. miles) in all – 6 per cent of the 

region’s surface area. Undisputed leader among them is the Morteratsch Glacier 

– at around 7 kilometres (4.5 miles), the longest in the Engadin. But other 

glaciers – again with intriguing names, such as Roseg, Tschierva, Sella and 

Pers – also put on an impressive display of nature. Under a winter blanket of 

snow, however, the ice giants are barely discernible. At most, you can make out 

the odd crevasse, offering a glimpse of the eerie blue interior. Equally intriguing 

are the ice caves, created in summer when the relatively warm meltwater makes 

its way out of the glacier. Exploring the ice giants on your own is, however, very 

dangerous. Anyone seeking the ultimate glacier experience is well advised to 

book an experienced guide.

Olympia Bob Run, St. Moritz–Celerina The Olympia Bob Run is the oldest 

bobsleigh run in the world – as well as the only natural-ice track in existence 

that hosts international races. In the course of its over 100-year old history, it 

has staged events for two Winter Olympic Games as well as 23 world

championships. From 21 January to 3 February 2013, bobsleigh and skeleton 

world championships will once again be held on the Olympia Bob Run. You can 

find out what it feels like to hurtle down the 1,722m (5,650ft) natural-ice bob 

run at lightning speed on a bob guest ride, piloted by a professional, experiencing 

speeds of up to 135kph (84mph). 

Cresta Run The legendary Cresta Run in St. Moritz was the birthplace of the 

sport of skeleton racing. With a length of 1,200m (3,920ft) and 10 corners, the 

Cresta is built anew every winter, like the bob run, using water and snow. 

Riders reach average speeds of about 90kph (55mph) – travelling head-first, 

their chin a mere 10cm (4in) above the ice. 

Magical St. Moritz The elegant and prestigious 5-star hotels of St. Moritz delight

During the winter season 2012/2013, the Engadin St. Moritz region is regularly 

hosting inspiring world-class sporting and cultural events. Here is an overview 

of the varied event programme, with just some of the highlights that should

Engadin Ski Opening and St. Moritz City Race The opening of the season on 

the Corviglia is marked with a big celebration. During the day, guests can test 

the latest equipment up on the Corviglia; in the evening, the St. Moritz City Race 

takes place on a piste running through the pedestrian zone of St. Moritz. 


Engadin Nordic Opening For five days, the Upper Engadin celebrates the joys 

of cross-country skiing. Brush up your skills with experienced instructors by 

day, and in the evening talk shop with visiting stars from the cross-country ski 

scene. 


SINFONIA 2012, Pontresina, Zuoz, Sils, Celerina Enjoy classical music at

Maloja to Zuoz/S-chanf along the wide valley of the Upper Engadin, revealing 

the unique beauty of this contrast-rich landscape. For every participant, this 

event is a personal challenge, a sporting highlight and an unforgettable experience. 

3 to 7 April 2013 

Spring Awakening Alongside the spring skiing, various events in the fields of 

literatur, design and fashion (22 to 24 March 2013) celebrate the arrival of spring 

in Engadin St. Moritz – and promise mountain experiences with a difference.

charm, menus feature delicious local specialities such as capuns (chard-wrapped 

dumplings), pizokels (buckwheat pasta), plain in pigna (baked potato hash browns 

with ham and bacon), maluns (fried potatoes served with mountain cheese and 

fresh apple purée) and Zuoz cabbage soup. World-class cuisine is presented in the 

many restaurants crowned with GaultMillau points or Michelin stars, which are 

particularly abundant in the valley. The restaurants of the top hotels, too, serve 

national and international cuisine at the very highest level. A special highlight is 

“mountain dining” at the Romantik Hotel Muottas Muragl, at an altitude of 2,456m

Zernez, too, lies close to the region’s large ski areas. A magnificent choice of idyllic cross-country ski trails 

leads into the great expanse of the Upper Engadin, as well as towards the Lower Engadin; one highlight

General Terms and Conditions

Scope of these General Terms and Conditions 

These General Terms and Conditions govern 

the legal relationship between you and the 

other party/parties to your contract. If you 

book one of the services or packages offered 

by the hotels and/or other service providers 

directly, your contract will be with the said 

service provider or providers, even if you place 

your booking through the Tourism Organisation 

Engadin St. Moritz. In such cases, the 

Tourism Organisation Engadin St. Moritz acts 

as an agent only. In the case of services and 

packages provided by the Tourism Organisation 

Engadin St. Moritz in its own name, however, 

your contract will be with the Tourism Organisation 

Engadin St. Moritz.

Conclusion of contract and performance 

Only when the booking office confirms your 

booking without any provisions do you have 

a legally binding contract with the service 

provider. If the same booking office offers you 

other services and packages which are not 

listed in a publication of the Tourism Organisation 

Engadin St. Moritz, then these General 

Terms and Conditions shall not apply. The 

scope of performance in such a case will be 

evident from the order confirmation and the 

description provided. Unless stated otherwise 

in the description, your trip will begin at the 

hotel or other accommodation booked.

Prices and terms of payment 

All prices are quoted in Swiss francs. Unless 

otherwise agreed in your booking or in the 

booking confirmation, the price of your trip 

shall be payable in full upon booking. If the 

price is not paid in full by the date due, the 

other party to the contract shall be entitled to 

withhold performance, to withdraw from the 

contract and to demand the cancellation costs 

listed in No. 5. Please note that if you book 

your trip through a different booking office, 

such as a travel agent, this booking office may 

charge you extra to cover the costs of the ser- 

vices provided (consultancy, reservations, etc.).

Price and programme changes 

The service providers and Tourism Organisation 

Engadin St. Moritz are entitled to change the 

description of performance and prices for as 

long as the contract has not yet been signed. 

You will be informed of this in your booking. 

Even after the contract has been signed, prices 

can still be increased right up to three weeks 

prior to the beginning of your trip, but only 

if the transport or accommodation costs, the 

charges for certain services, or the exchange 

rate have increased. The price of your trip will 

be raised commensur ably in such a case. The 

programme and scope of performance may 

also have to be changed owing to unforeseen 

circumstances. Should any of the essential 

features of your trip change significantly and if 

you cannot be offered an appropriate alternative, 

you shall then have the right to cancel 

your booking. Price increases of more than 

10% count as a significant change. Unforeseen 

and unavoidable events may necessitate a 

change of programme or itinerary even after 

your trip has commenced. Your service provider 

will endeavour to provide an appropriate 

alternative in such cases.

Changes or cancellations requested by you 

If you wish to change your booking or to 

cancel your trip, you must notify the booking 

office of this directly. Any travel documents 

you have already received must be returned to 

the booking office at the same time. A service 

charge of CHF 60.– per person, max. CHF 120.– 

per order, will be levied for cancellations and 

changes (affecting names of travellers, dates, 

accommodation or additional services, etc.). 

Please note that this charge will always be 

levied in the event of a change of date. If you 

cancel your trip or change your booking (name, 

date, accommodation, additional services, 

etc.) less than 31 days prior to your departure, 

you will also be liable for the following costs 

as a percentage of the total cost of your trip:

The critical date is that on which the booking 

office receives notice of your intentions; if 

that is a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday, 

the next working day shall apply.

Late arrival or early departure of your 

own accord 

You are responsible for arriving on time. 

Should you arrive late, you cannot claim a 

refund for any services you have missed 

owing to your late arrival. Should you depart 

early, you cannot claim a refund for the 

remainder of your trip.

Early departure or exclusion occasioned 

by the service provider 

The service provider is entitled to end the 

service/trip prematurely in the event of 

unforeseen or unavoidable circumstances such 

as would render its performance of contract 

impossible, extremely difficult or dangerous 

for those taking part. Should an appropriate 

alternative prove impossible in the event of 

force majeure, the service provider shall be 

exempted from its obligation to perform. Your 

claim to a refund in such cases shall be limited 

to unlawful enrichment only. The service 

provider can exclude participants from the trip 

if their behaviour or omissions justify such a 

step. In such a case, the cost of the package 

shall still be due in full and there shall be no 

refunds. Nor may the participants affected 

claim damages of any kind.

Liability 

The Tourism Organisation Engadin St. Moritz 

and the service provider shall be liable only 

for the services they themselves render and to 

the extent provided for by law, although they 

shall not be liable for negligence on their own 

part or on the part of their vicarious agents. 

There shall be no liability for valu ables, cam- 

eras, video cameras and photographic equipment, 

fur coats and other expensive items 

of clothing, mobile phones, credit cards and 

cash or for the unlawful use of the same. For 

packages, liability for anything other than 

personal injury shall be limited to twice the 

cost of the package. Here, too, the terms 

governing liability for valuables shall apply. 

Liability in all cases shall be limited to the loss 

or damage actually suffered. There shall be 

no liability for lost holiday time, frustration, 

etc. Extracontractual liability shall be limited 

to that provided for by law.

Travel insurance 

Participants are strongly urged to take out 

travel insurance to cover them in the event of 

cancellation or early departure, incl. such as 

might be necessitat ed by accident or sickness.

Applicable law and jurisdiction 

Swiss law shall apply to the exclusion of all 

others. Any disputes shall be settled in 

St. Moritz, Switzerland, to the exclusion of 

any other courts of law.

named within, in accordance with 

information supplied by them. Your 

contractual partner is specified in the 

relevant entry, and is responsible for the 

proper provision of any services booked. 

Many service providers operate their 

own General Terms and Conditions that 

define contractual relations with you and 

specify the liability of the provider. These 

general terms of business are binding for 

you when you make a booking. Prices 

and services described in this brochure 

may be changed at any time. You will be 

informed about any such changes at the 

time of making a booking. Outdoor activities: 

these activities may be cancelled 

or broken off at any time if weather 

conditions or other circumstances require. 

You may book services direct with the relevant 

provider or via Engadin St. Moritz. 

If you book an activity via Engadin 

St. Moritz, the latter is dealing purely as 

an intermediary between you and the 

service provider. Your contract is direct 

with the provider of the service booked. 

In case of disagreement or any question 

of liability, etc., you should refer direct 

to the relevant service provider. Engadin 

St. Moritz is not your contractual 

partner, and accepts no responsibility 

for provision of the service booked. Only 

Swiss law is applicable. Any disputes 

arising hereunder will be settled before 

a competent court of law in St. Moritz, 

Switzerland.
