In future, it may operate both branded stores in the same shopping centre. 3.4.6 Growth Potential and Future Strateg y King of Knives has identifi ed a number of potential ways to grow its business, including: Organic sales growth – the Group will continue to focus on delivering sales and profi t growth from its existing stores. page [22] New stores – King of Knives has opened an average of six stores per year over the last six years. The Directors expect this average growth rate of new stores to continue. In addition, the Directors believe that growth in store numbers above the historical trend may be achievable through the following means: Franchising – At present, King of Knives operates only corporate owned stores. Growth can be augmented by implementing a franchise model, utilising the franchising expertise within <strong>Retail</strong> <strong>Cube</strong>. Specialised shopping centres – The Group has recently opened Chef King branded stores in homemaker and factory outlet centres. As a result of the success achieved by these stores, the Group is considering opening more Chef King branded stores in similar centres across both Australia and New Zealand. King of Knives intends to franchise a number of its existing corporate owned stores in the short to medium term. However, the impact of franchising has not been taken into account in the King of Knives’ FY2005 forecasts.
3.4.7 Senior Management Maurice Joffee (age 54) Maurice founded King of Knives and has been Managing Director since inception. He qualifi ed as a Chartered Accountant in South Africa and has 17 years of experience in the successful growth of King of Knives. He is responsible for the overall coordination, management and control of this Group. The combination of his fi nancial, commercial and retail background is refl ected in the success of King of Knives. Rozelle Joffee (age 54) Rozelle is the General Manager of King of Knives. She has been with the Group since its inception and assists in all aspects of managing its business.
