One of the many practices that McGary learned while studying
bronze casting under the American sculptor Harry Jackson was
that of applying paints, as well as patinas, to finished surfaces. In
Not Afraid of Pawnee, a bust of the late nineteenth-century
Yankton Sioux warrior, McGary's coloration operates
aesthetically and symbolically: the black of the Sioux's face paint
suggests his deadened feelings of revenge, and the red of his shirt
the power he derives from Mother Earth. Not Afraid of Pawnee
wears as a sign of his battle prowess his characteristic timber-wolf
headdress, fringed with golden eagle feathers, which sacred,
must never touch the ground. On his left shoulder, he supports a
Spencer rifle encased in a beaded Sioux case.

The first Aman resort in North America, Amangani opened in October 1998. The 40-suite resort

Amangiri, ‘peaceful mountain’, is located in the southwest region of the USA also known as

guest suites in the Steckter House, the original homestead on the property. This 148 year-old transformed

Dave McGary, at 52, is becoming a living legend among contemporary artists of the American West. He is
considered the Master of Realism depicting Native American Indians and his many awards during the past
decade more than verify his popularity among collectors and fellow artists. His ability to capture the human
spirit knows no equal, and his attention to detail in form and historic content are exhilarating.

Not Afraid of Pawnee, a Yankton Sioux, lived in the late 1800’s. Known for his great prowess and courage as a
warrior, he successfully led his warriors against the fierce Pawnee. He is depicted wearing his Timber Wolf
headdress which exemplified craft in war. He is carrying a Spencer Rifle with brass trade tacks encased in a
beaded Sioux gun case. His war bonnet, with spiked feathers of the Golden Eagle, is considered sacred and
must never touch the ground. His face paint of black coloring symbolized the fires of revenge burned out of his
soul and the color red, the power he uses from Mother Earth.

This is the eighth year in a row for Schweiger Vineyards to participate in Red, White & Snow to benefit the
National Ability Center. The Schweiger family has been a longtime dedicated supporter of the NAC and its
mission, and to founder, Meeche White for her amazing spirit and perseverance. This year’s Schweiger lot,
entitled ‘Dedication’ is not only the name of this limited production Bordeaux blend – the Schweiger family
also gives tribute for all of the hard work by the women and men who keep the National Ability Center running
and to the athletes and participants who work even harder to achieve their goals and dreams.
Tonight’s successful bidder will take home a three liter of the 2007 Dedication signed by the family. We also
would like you to spend some time in Napa! Two couples will fly from Heber City to St. Helena on a private jet,
graciously donated by Chuck Heath. Enjoy two nights at the enchanting Harvest Inn. Each of the private
cottage rooms overlooks vineyard views. Dinner will be served at the home of Sally and Fred Schweiger with
breathtaking valley floor views from their vineyard home situated at 2,000 feet above the Napa Valley. Sit
down to dinner created by winemaker, Andy Schweiger and Matriarch Sally for a multi course meal paired
with the signature estate Bordeaux style blend ”Dedication” and our estate
Cabernet Sauvignon along with Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. Oh yes,
and we must not forget the Cabernet Port for dessert. Your stay also
includes a gift certificate to be used at any one of the three infamous Cindy
Pawlcyn restaurants including; Mustards, Cindy’s Backstreet Kitchen and
Brassica.

The Riverhorse on Main is one of the oldest and most distinguished restaurants on Park City’s historic Main
Street. Since its opening on New Year’s Eve, 1987, the Riverhorse has been highly regarded by both restaurant
critics and the dining public. In 1995, the Riverhorse became the first restaurant in Utah to receive the DiRōNA
Award. This very prestigious honor, dedicated to “excellence in dining,” was bestowed that year on only 223
restaurants in North America. The Riverhorse has maintained this distinguished honor each year since.
