Phased retirement
Working part time
You can decide to go part time before retiring and this will
have an impact on your superannuation. For WestState
and GESB Super Members, the employer component of 9
per cent is still paid on your gross salary.
For Gold State members the years of service are reduced
by the part-time period but the salary used to calculate
your benefit is still the full-time salary equivalent.
For further
information
about the impact
of part-time
employment on
your superannuation
benefit, refer to
your superannuation benefits while you are still working
through Transition to Retirement. You may also choose to
reduce your working hours. The income you receive from
superannuation will help supplement any loss of salary.
