course – a fact that excites Coaches Brian Cook and Nick
Malick. All members of the team enjoyed considerable
development of both athletic skill and spirit. The season
was highlighted by a dual meet “split” with New
Hampton School on New Hampton Day, a victory that
was essential for Tilton’s clinching of the Powder Keg.
Pavel Pluhar ’10 led the boys’ team all season, garnering
the Most Valuable Runner award. Chris Falzone ’09
enjoyed dramatic improvements, earning the Most
Improved Runner award.
VARSITY FOOTBALL
The Boys’ Varsity Football team had an extraordinary
season, finishing 9-0 for the first time in school history.
There were many highlights along the way, including a
close win over rival Holderness School. The Rams also
gave Hyde (ME) its only loss of the year. Once again,
Tilton hosted a night game, and the fans had a great time
watching a good win against Vermont Academy. During
the last game of the regular season, the Rams renewed a
long-time rivalry with New Hampton School and came
out on top 59-22 to help win the traditional Powder Keg
for the school. Tilton was invited to the NEPSAC playoffs
against a talented Rye Country Day School team, and the
Rams came away with a hard-fought 18-6 win to become
New England Champions for the first time! With many
underclassmen returning, the team hopes to be successful
again next year as well. Amir Khan ’08 and Jordan Smith
’08 were both named to the All-New England team, and
Khan was named the NEPSAC Class-C Player of the Year.
Smith and Khan shared Tilton’s Most Valuable Player
award. Eddie Dobrowolski ’09 received the Coaches’
Award, while Mike Monaco ’09 and Eric Hollingsworth
’09 received the Most Improved Player awards. Other
seniors honored were Hamdam Al Nehayan, Will Bialecki,
Garrett Brewer, Evan Cavanaugh, Drew Hurtt and Kyle
Keefe. Dobrowolski, Josh Chronopoulos ’09, Cory
Dudman ’09, Kiki Ferguson ’09 and Jermetrius Troy ’09
were named captains for next year’s team.
JV FOOTBALL
The Tilton Rams
JV Football team,
coached by Marsh
Gray and Mike
Milbury, had another
strong season. The
Rams finished the
year undefeated with
a team record of 6-0
and were once again
the champions of the Lakes Region. Highlighting the
season were wins over Proctor Academy 20-16 and New
Hampton School 55 -28 and a come-from-behind-win
against Holderness School 40-18. Quarterback Corey
MacKoul ’11 and kicker Hamdan Al Nehayan ’08
provided great leadership, along with tri-captains Kenny
Craig ’10, Cody Marquis ’10 and Charlie Cullen ’09. The
team also had an impenetrable showing on defense against
Kimball Union Academy 51-0 and St. Paul’s School 38-0.
Kris Herrera ’09, Adam Smith ’10 and Matt Schwalm ’09
were all great additions to the linebacker core. Running
back Nosa Igbinedion ’09 led the offense in rushing and
was named Most Valuable Player. First-year linebacker
Jordan Judd ’09 led the defense in tackles and won the
Most Improved Player award. With so many returning
players, the Rams look forward to an even better season
next year.
