FIND THAT ROSE! QUESTIONNAIRE
(The question asked in the 23rd Edition)
The future format of Find That Rose!
THE RESULT
Thank all of you who took the trouble to respond to the questionnaire of preferred
format for Find That Rose! Not surprisingly all who answered favoured the hard copy.
Whilst technology moves on, I understand from your comments many do not have a
Computer or prefer to have a leisurely look at a BOOK.
I however have to be realistic that many people “search the net” to find all their
information now days. When it comes to finding roses in the UK via the web things have
been sadly lacking. Equally up to now all sites are in general derived from abroad and
are woefully inaccurate. So something is being done about this. For my part I am
financing a Find That Rose! site. It is not at this stage going to be very sophisticate and
not all pages of the hard copy of Find That Rose will be there. However do have a look
on www.findthatrose.net and see! If it proves popular then it will move on to a search
format.
For the 23rd Edition the Horticultural Trades Association financed a CD version, which
was distributed with a hard copy of Find That Rose to around 1,400 members of the
Horticultural Trades Association. I was so impressed that I am purchasing to sell on
some copies of this 24th Edition as an experiment. It makes searching for something
specific such as a particular name or say all the various Rose of The Years simple by
using the search facility. So if you are interested see ordering coupon on page 77.
Under the Rose Industry marketing/publicity umbrella of Roses UK a new web site is
being created and launched at Hampton Court, which will concentrate on photos, and
descriptions of many of the newer varieties and some old favourites Visit
www.rosesuk.com.
