“Champagne Moment” Korvanaber<br />

This floribunda has a very appealing name. The large blooms are pale pink to ivory with<br />

a deeper apricot centre. Good disease resistance. With regards to fragrance the power of this is<br />

debated. Sense of smell is a very individual experience and some consider this variety has a strong<br />

fragrance others do not find it very powerful. Its disease resistance is very good. Smaller illustration is<br />

O<strong>THE</strong>R ILLUSTRATIONS<br />

The inside cover is dedicated to internationally famous Tantau <strong>Roses</strong>. This Breeder and grower of roses<br />

has been responsible for many quality varieties including “Polar Star” Rose of the Year for 1985.<br />

Two of the most famous Tantau rose are “Super Star” which was with its vermilion colour a sensational<br />

colour break when it came onto the scene in 1960. A slightly later variety “Fragrant Cloud” is still<br />

considered one of the most fragrant varieties of all time. Now the Germany firm of Tantau is celebrating<br />

its centenary. And some newer varieties are shown on the inside cover. One “Twice In a Blue Moon” is<br />

hailed as a success to “Blue Moon” also from Tantau. Also already makings its mark is “Nostalgia”.<br />

Absent Friends (Dicemblem) Floribunda with pretty full-petalled rosette type blooms produced in<br />

abundance. Buds are yellow turning to peach blooms which fade to pale pink, with a moderate<br />

Desert Island (Dicfizz) This free flowering floribunda is very fragrant. Pretty creamy caramel blooms.<br />

Simply Heaven (Dickzombie) Long lasting creamy yellow hybrid tea blooms with a touch of bronze.<br />

Spice of Life (Diccheeky) A tremendous free and long flowering variety. The buds develop from a<br />

reddish pink to orange blend with almost scarlet edges in the mature flower with the reverse petals<br />

Tenacious (Macblackpo) This colourful floribunda bred by Sam McGredy is a mixture of colours of<br />

Together Forever (Dicecho) The buds and young blooms of this floribunda variety are orange with a<br />

yellow centre, which turn to a pale peach pink as they mature. A fragrant variety with a very good<br />
