The second round of the
kiteboard world cup 2004, was
held between the 11 th and 18 th
of July at Burc Beach close to
Istanbul, Turkey. After an
unlucky start with hard winds
during night and no wind at all
during daytime, the wind finally
came together during the last
days. The competition offered
high standard from the start with
among others Charles Deleau,
last year’s winner of the cup,
doing double handle passes.
Another who really impressed
was 15 years old Kevin Langree
from Holland. On the women
side the show was stolen by an
even younger competitor – 10
years old Gisela Pulido from
Spain.
After the first elimination,
Mickaël Fernandez held the
lead before Charles Deleau and
Kevin Langeree. On the women
side it was Gisela Pulido in top,
followed by Laurence Lignieres
and Fabienne D’Ortoli. The wind
continued to blow on the last
day and a second elimination
could be held. The women’s
result stayed the same, and on
the men’s side Kevin managed
to advance one place.
