Subject Information Sheet.
Group: 2PE.
Subject Format:
This subject consists of three competencies. Each competency must be completed
within the time allocated. Each competency has an outline sheet and a project sheet.
The information on these two documents are critical. Study both documents carefully
to maximize your results. Each competency outline contains a list of references and
useful resources. These are provided instead of a text book. Text books are difficult
to keep up to date in these fast changing subjects. Students are expected to do their
own research to ensure they are familiar with all the terms and material mentioned in
the outline and project documents. Do not leave your study until the exam day. It will
be too late by then.
The subject flow may change slightly due to teacher illness, meetings, public
holidays,
room availability etc. The subject flow will not be varied for any of the following
reasons:
● My assignment is not finished.
● I had to work.
● My dog ate it.
● I slept in.
● My car broke down.
● The train had a flat tyre.
● I was not at school that day.
● I need more time.
● I left my usb flash drive at home.
If in doubt, see the teacher before the due date.
Assessment
Competencies are grouped into a subject to make timetabling more convenient.
Each competency is assessed separately. Both the presentation, and exam must be
passed to pass each competency. Students can continue with the next competency
in this subject if they fail one or more competency. You may not be allowed to enroll
in web development 2 if you fail a competency in this Subject.
Presentations:
Students must present their work on the allocated day unless a valid medical
certificate is provided. Presentations must be completed and ready at the beginning
of the presentation class. No time will be available and computers will not be able to
be used during the presentations. The presenter will be able to present using a
computer. Failure to present when requested will result in failure of the competency.
Consult the presentation rubric under resources on http://cict.bhatfe.edu.au/~mgibbs
for details on assessment. It is recommended that students think carefully about
the project prior to starting it. Projects copied in whole or part from other students or
the Internet will not attract a satisfactory result. All resources must be created by you
including text, design, images, and colour schemes.

Exams:
Re sits are not available for this subject.
Exams can only be sat on the allocated day unless a valid medical certificate is
provided.
Students should be aware that the resources listed in the competency outline are
important. Students must be familiar with the contents of these resources prior to the
exam. Exams are based on locating information rather than testing memory. There is
insufficient time in the exam to look up every answer.
