The Fondazione Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia announces an international competition
for auditions for the following full-time positions in the permanent Orchestra:
Concertmaster with section duties
Assistant Concertmaster, with section duties as well as substituting for the Concertmaster
English Horn, with oboe, oboe d’amore and doubling First Oboe duties
Bass Tuba with Contrabass Tuba and Contrabass Trombone duties
Art. 1 – Requirements for admission. All candidates, as of the deadline date set forth for applying for
admission, must be in possession of all the following requirements:
• Hold a degree diploma in the instrument with which they intend to compete (if the degree has
been obtained abroad, it is considered valid if it has been declared equivalent to a Conservatory
diploma, equivalent according to the provisions of the Italian laws currently in force or
declared qualified by the exercise of employment as a member of a professional orchestra;
• Italian citizenship, or citizenship in a member country of the European Union;
• Possession of full political rights;
• At least 18 years of age;
• In possession of physical prerequisites and without defects or imperfections that could limit full
and unconditional performance, whether in-house or elsewhere, of the duties specified by the
Collective Work Contract for employees of Lyric-Symphonic Foundations, as well as relevant
professional performance.
• Not have been convicted of any crime and have no legal proceedings underway against them.
The Board of Examiners will examine all applications provided with artistic CVs that are
received by the established deadline date; it will decide, according to its irrevocable judgment,
about the direct admission to the final audition phase of those candidates whose artistic merits are
deemed worthy of full professional consideration.
Art. 2 – Applications for admission.
Applications, accompanied by a detailed artistic curriculum, must be received by the Fondazione by
and no later than
23 February 2010
Candidates must complete the online APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION form published on the
Fondazione website, which can be found at www.santacecilia.it in the section entitled “bandi e
concorsi” (“auditions” on the English home page) and following the instructions provided for
submitting it online.
Once the application has been submitted, the Fondazione will send the candidate an official
confirmation by email, which the candidate must print and present on the day of the audition
Applications for admission sent by any other means will NOT be accepted.
Failure to provide even one of the statements required will mean exclusion from the auditions.
Candidates whose applications prove to inexact or not completely true forfeit any right to employment.
Application for admission to the competition signifies, on the part of the candidate, his or her
unconditional acceptance of the unquestionable and irrevocable judgment of the Board of Examiners,
the terms of the CCNL (National Collective Employment Contract) for employees of Lyric-Symphonic
Foundations, the laws in force and the corporate integrative agreement.
