Since 2004, the Wyoming State Legislature has
generously granted LCCC $8 million to be matched
dollar-for-dollar through the state’s Community
College Challenge Grant. With this match money, the
Matching the Spirit campaign has added nearly $16
million to the foundation’s endowments and we plan
to complete this campaign this year. The foundation
also works to lay the groundwork for future fundraising
success by expanding the donor base to include
alumni and friends, retaining donors and encouraging
increased levels of support. In addition to raising
money effectively, the foundation takes very seriously
the responsibility of providing careful management of
funds already raised.
Employees and members of the college and foundation
boards of trustees have stepped up to the plate and
given to the college as well. In the recent Employee
Giving Campaign run by the foundation, every member
of the foundation board donated. The board created
the new LCCC Board of Trustees Scholarship and
employees of the college contributed $72,310 in new
gifts and pledges. Those donations will be matched by
through the Matching the Spirit program, bringing the
total to $144,620. Since 2004, employees and retirees
at the college have contributed more than $965,000
through the Employee Giving Campaign. Employees and
retirees have established 77 new scholarships to honor
loved ones, celebrate milestones or support students
struggling financially to make it through college.
