Based in the Ruhr Valley, but at home throughout
the world
Whether it‘s a transshipper for Turkey, a long-term storage facility for decommissioned nuclear submarines in
Russia, or a power plant at an altitude of 2,600 meters in Colombia – no two projects are alike. The planning,
construction and operation of energy installations have many dimensions: technical, economic and ecological,
political and social.
Each of these dimensions must be individually
weighted and taken into account in
each project depending on where in the
world the project is being implemented
and what the underlying conditions are.
We offer our portfolio across the globe.
In the key countries India, USA and Brazil
we are represented by our subsidiaries.
With the close cooperation and support of
German engineers we offer „power plant
technology made in Germany“ there.
India
Evonik Energy Services (India) Pvt. Ltd.
was set up in 2001. The approximately
450 employees of the company, which is
based in New Delhi, provide a wide range
of services for power plant operators.
Along with conventional engineering services
for modernizing and building new
power plants, they include taking full
charge of the operation and maintenance
of power plants of third parties. Another
focus of work is the development and implementation
of process optimization software
which helps boost efficiency based
on the experience gained in Evonik’s own
power plants.
Under the vigorously pursued program of
modernization – and thus improvement of
the efficiency – of existing coal-fired power
plants in India, Evonik Energy Services India
can claim market leadership for itself
as R&M (Renovation & Modernization)
consultant through its involvement in
many current projects.
USA
Since 1992 our subsidiary Evonik Energy
Services LLC has been active in the USA
and serves the strongly growing market
of American power plants which operate
on fossil fuels and have to comply with increasingly
more stringent statutory environmental
requirements.
In the North American energy supply
market our subsidiary currently is very
successful with services from the portfolio
of Energy Technologies and Plant Services.
The portfolio includes environmental technology
services and engineering and consulting
services for air pollution control
systems.
Evonik Energy Services LLC is headquartered
in North Carolina. In 2007 its range
of power plant services was successfully
enlarged, and after only nine months‘
work the world‘s most modern regeneration
facility for power plant catalysts
could be put into service.
Brazil
Evonik Energy Services do Brasil Ltd. was
established in 2002. Together with a local
partner it operates the 170 MW Canoas
gas turbine power station of Petrobras,
near Porto Alegre, Brazil. It is one of the
most up-to-date, most efficient, most environment-friendly
power plants.
On behalf of ThyssenKrupp we are handling
the planning, construction supervision
and operation and maintenance of the
power plant complex for the new steel
mill in Santa Cruz, Rio de Janeiro. This
ultramodern 490 MW combined cycle
power plant is operated exclusively with
blast furnace gas and coking plant steam
and is the biggest of three industrial power
plants of this type in existence in the
world.
