NGOs and
Donors
Funding • The funding provided is
inadequate and inconsistent;
further the funding comes with a
lot of stringent conditions so that
most CBTs can’t benefit from
them. When funds are available
from donors CBTs aren’t aware
of them.
• More funds should be
provided for the lack of
sustainability when and if the
NGOs pull out. Better
conditions should be thought
out to ensure that CBTs can
comply with and benefit from
funds provided.
Capacity
building

Awareness • Awareness done by NGOs
doesn’t seem to trickle down to
the communities, thus the
mandate of the NGOs is also
questioned as no impact is felt at
the grassroots of their existence
and the work they do.
• Retraining should be
undertaken especially to
those who implement
activities at the grassroots to
ensure that they impact the
communities positively. They
should also participate in
exhibitions more often so that
communities can be aware of
their programmes and
facilities.

• This only exists in policy papers
developed by the association
and doesn’t seem to followed to
the letter

associations need to pursue
closer relations
