Helping you pick your itinerary<br />
In a region famed for its history and steeped<br />
in heritage, finding your starting point can<br />
be the toughest part. We’re sure you’ll find<br />
an option to suit you. Choose one of these<br />
tours or with a little more time, do both.<br />
Each one should take you between two and<br />
three days.<br />
Start off in Nenagh town and see its 13th<br />
century Castle and Heritage Centre/<br />
Museum, located in the old <strong>County</strong> Gaol<br />
buildings. Travel on to Lorrha and visit<br />
St. Ruadhan’s Abbey, which was built<br />
around 1,000 AD. Head towards Roscrea<br />
Heritage Town and walk the Heritage Town<br />
Trail, visiting Roscrea Castle, and the 18th<br />
century Queen Anne style Damer House.<br />
Next, explore Thurles town and continue<br />
on to Holycross and visit the 12th century<br />
Holycross Abbey. Finish off this wonderful<br />
tour by seeing Cashel with its famous 4th<br />
century castle.<br />
Begin in <strong>Tipperary</strong> town and walk the town<br />
Heritage Trail. Then continue on to the<br />
4th century Rock of Cashel and take in life<br />
in pre-Norman Ireland. Follow that with a<br />
trip to Fethard Medieval Walled Town.<br />
Drive on to Carrick-on-Suir and visit<br />
Ireland’s only Tudor Manor (Ormond<br />
Castle) before going to Clonmel to visit<br />
the famous Westgate. Finish up in Cahir<br />
and delight in the wonderful Cahir Castle<br />
and the Swiss Cottage.<br />
This is just a taste of <strong>Tipperary</strong> history. Stay<br />
a couple more days and fully appreciate all<br />
