<strong>Plan</strong><br />
Whether your retirement is years away or right around the corner, saving for the future is<br />
something you can’t afford not to do. Why Because Social Security and your pension<br />
benefits alone are not enough. A large part of your retirement income will need to come<br />
from you.<br />
The <strong>Huntington</strong> <strong>Ingalls</strong> <strong>Industries</strong> <strong>Savings</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> makes it easier for you to save with<br />
valuable tax advantages and convenient payroll deductions. This summary plan<br />
description (SPD) is your guide to how the <strong>Plan</strong> works.<br />

<strong>Huntington</strong> <strong>Ingalls</strong> <strong>Industries</strong> reserves the right to suspend, reduce, or discontinue<br />
contributions to the <strong>Huntington</strong> <strong>Ingalls</strong> <strong>Industries</strong> <strong>Savings</strong> <strong>Plan</strong>. <strong>Huntington</strong> <strong>Ingalls</strong><br />
<strong>Industries</strong> also may amend or terminate the <strong>Plan</strong> at any time. You will be notified of any<br />
significant amendments to the <strong>Plan</strong>.<br />
This guide is a summary of the main features of the <strong>Huntington</strong> <strong>Ingalls</strong> <strong>Industries</strong> <strong>Savings</strong><br />
<strong>Plan</strong>, effective as of March 31, 2011. It presents a summary only and does not contain<br />
details of all aspects of the <strong>Plan</strong>. It is not an official plan document, and neither the plan<br />
documents nor this guide constitute an implied or express contract of employment.<br />
The actual terms of the <strong>Plan</strong> are contained in the <strong>Plan</strong> documents, which are available<br />
from the HIBC. To request the <strong>Plan</strong> documents, call the HIBC at 1-877-216-3222. If you<br />
need information about any savings plans that have been merged into this <strong>Plan</strong>, you can<br />
refer to the plan documents or SPDs for those plans, which are also available from the<br />
HIBC.<br />
The official plan text and trust agreement govern the operation of the <strong>Plan</strong> and payment<br />
of all benefits. In the event of any ambiguity in or omission from this guide, or any conflict<br />
between this guide and the official plan text and trust agreement, the official plan text and<br />
trust agreement govern.<br />
