5 Professional learning and teacher standards
5.1 Teacher Standards
The table shows the total numbers of members of staff responsible for delivering the curriculum as described by the Education
Act 1990, and in terms of standard of professional competence as determined by the Minister for Education and Training.
Teachers who have teaching qualifications from a higher institution within Australia 125
Teachers who have qualifications as a graduate from a higher education institution within Australia 11
Teachers employed in NSW before 1 October 2004 who do not have qualifications as described above
but have relevant successful teaching experience or appropriate knowledge relevant to the teaching context

5.2 Professional Learning
The Senior School continued to provide extensive professional learning and support for teachers during the 2012 reporting
period. As in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 this involved whole school professional development days, group and individual
experiences. Professional development was conducted in-house and outsourced. The school continues to invest considerable
resources into in-house professional development as it has since 2008.
In the senior school, Years 7-12, targeted professional learning came under the following categories: pastoral care; pedagogy and
professional practice; and individual subject support.
