Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery, and<br />

the Director of the Rolf Luft Research Center for<br />

Diabetes and Endocrinology, Karolinska Institutet.<br />

Associate Professor Tham Kum Ying<br />

Assistant Dean, Head of Phases 2 & 3, <strong>LKCMedicine</strong><br />

A much sought-after educator locally and regionally<br />

in resuscitation, trauma, emergency medicine and<br />

medical education. Winner of several teaching<br />

awards including Best Teacher Award, Top 10<br />

Teachers Award and e-Learning Champion Award.<br />

Associate Professor Pang Weng Sun<br />

Vice-Dean, Clinical Affairs, <strong>LKCMedicine</strong><br />

Former Chairman of the Medical Boards for<br />

Alexandra and Khoo Teck Puat Hospitals, he<br />

chairs Singapore’s Specialist Training Committee<br />

for Geriatric Medicine and is a recipient of the<br />

Professor Daniela Rhodes, FRS<br />

From the University of Cambridge<br />

Internationally recognised for her contributions in the<br />

area of chromosome biology, she provided fundamental<br />

insights into the packaging of DNA in chromosomes,<br />

the structure of telomeres and how specific proteins<br />

recognise DNA sequences to regulate transcription.<br />

Professor Walter Wahli<br />

From University of Lausanne<br />

A pioneer who achieved worldwide recognition<br />

for discovering the medically-relevant Peroxisome<br />

Proliferator-Activated Receptors, his research<br />

mainly focuses on the genetic control of energy<br />

metabolism.
