The curriculum of LKCMedicine places an emphasis on patient-centred
care and an early exposure to real clinical care conditions. To facilitate this,
the School is working with a wide range of Singapore’s healthcare providers,
from government hospitals and polyclinics to private hospitals and practitioners,
including general practitioners. Singapore’s National Healthcare Group (NHG),
a leading name in public healthcare recognised for the quality of its clinical care,
facilities and teaching excellence, is the school’s primary clinical partner.
NHG comprises an integrated network of primary healthcare polyclinics,
acute care hospitals, and national specialty centres, under the same philosophy
of patient-centred care that the School subscribes to.
LKCMedicine will also be partnering other healthcare institutions to ensure
our students are exposed to a wide range of clinical and work environments
as part of their training. This will allow the students to appreciate their role
as a medical practitioner in the context of the wider healthcare system, and
give them the fullest opportunity to acquire a solid scientific understanding
of medicine and the appropriate clinical skills to be leaders in the field of
healthcare delivery and medical research.
