BIFA FREIGHT SERVICE <strong>AWARDS</strong> <strong>2008</strong><br />

PEOPLE AWARD CATEGORY<br />

HOW TO ENTER THE YOUNG FREIGHT FORWARDER AWARD<br />

No entry fee applicable<br />

Young <strong>Freight</strong> Forwarder Award entrants are required to complete the appropriate<br />

entry form included at the back of this brochure, and send this in together with<br />

their submission consisting of:<br />

•a CV;<br />

• a career statement detailing any special achievements and objectives for<br />

the future;<br />

• a training and development record; and<br />

• an article of up to 700 words on ‘What will be the impact of the Authorised<br />

Economic Operator (AEO) on freight forwarders and the supply chain’ to be<br />

evaluated by the Young <strong>Freight</strong> Forwarder Award Judging Panel.<br />

Four finalists will be chosen by the Young <strong>Freight</strong> Forwarder Award Judging Panel.<br />

Finalists will be invited to a face-to-face interview, to discuss the finalist’s career in<br />

the past, present and future. One winner, out of four finalists’, will be chosen and<br />

announced at the BIFA Awards Ceremony on Thursday 22 January 2009.<br />

THE JUDGING PANEL<br />

The Young <strong>Freight</strong> Forwarder Award Judging Panel will comprise members of the<br />

BIFA Secretariat and the category sponsor.<br />

Announcement of Finalists Mid October <strong>2008</strong><br />

Announcement of the Winner Thursday 22 January 2009<br />

Rules of entry:<br />

1 The Awards scheme is open to individuals working for BIFA Member companies.<br />

2 Entrants must be under the age of 30 on 31 December <strong>2008</strong> and have a minimum<br />

of two years’ working experience in the industry.<br />

3 Finalists must be present at the Awards Ceremony on Thursday 22 January 2009<br />

at The Brewery, London EC1.<br />

4 The judging panel’s decision is final.<br />

5 The winner must agree to be nominated to take part as the UK candidate in the<br />

FIATA/TT Club/IATA Young <strong>International</strong> <strong>Freight</strong> Forwarder of the Year Award in 2009.<br />
