BIFA FREIGHT SERVICE AWARDS 2008
PEOPLE AWARD CATEGORY
HOW TO ENTER THE YOUNG FREIGHT FORWARDER AWARD
No entry fee applicable
Young Freight Forwarder Award entrants are required to complete the appropriate
entry form included at the back of this brochure, and send this in together with
their submission consisting of:
•a CV;
• a career statement detailing any special achievements and objectives for
the future;
• a training and development record; and
• an article of up to 700 words on ‘What will be the impact of the Authorised
Economic Operator (AEO) on freight forwarders and the supply chain’ to be
evaluated by the Young Freight Forwarder Award Judging Panel.
Four finalists will be chosen by the Young Freight Forwarder Award Judging Panel.
Finalists will be invited to a face-to-face interview, to discuss the finalist’s career in
the past, present and future. One winner, out of four finalists’, will be chosen and
announced at the BIFA Awards Ceremony on Thursday 22 January 2009.
THE JUDGING PANEL
The Young Freight Forwarder Award Judging Panel will comprise members of the
BIFA Secretariat and the category sponsor.

Announcement of the Winner Thursday 22 January 2009
Rules of entry:
1 The Awards scheme is open to individuals working for BIFA Member companies.
2 Entrants must be under the age of 30 on 31 December 2008 and have a minimum
of two years’ working experience in the industry.
3 Finalists must be present at the Awards Ceremony on Thursday 22 January 2009
at The Brewery, London EC1.
4 The judging panel’s decision is final.
5 The winner must agree to be nominated to take part as the UK candidate in the
FIATA/TT Club/IATA Young International Freight Forwarder of the Year Award in 2009.
