Made about 100 AD, probably in Greece or Asia<br />
Minor. Purchased with the aid of the Central<br />
Purchasing Grant, the MLA Fund, the Friends of the<br />
<strong>Ashmolean</strong> <strong>Museum</strong>, Mr and Mrs J Ferrell, the France<br />
Fund and the Hattatt Trust.<br />

Dionysos in hunting dress<br />
Hellenistic Greek, of unknown provenance. Once in<br />
the collection of James Bomford, and exhibited at the<br />
<strong>Ashmolean</strong> in 1966. Temporarily loaned to the<br />
Department of Antiquities.
