Salvation Army Clinic Medical Director: Dr. Murray Katcher My participation in MEDiC has opened my eyes and invigorated me. The impact of each Salvation Army experience is truly remarkable. Some things are more obvious than others, like the care we provide for our patients. We, as students, also have the opportunity to hone our basic clinical skills and remind ourselves why many of us have chosen a career in medicine. Perhaps less obvious, but to me even more consequential, is what we learn about people. We have the privilege of serving an incredible group and meeting many inspiring individuals. My outlook on society and the role of medical care has been positively redefined. There is no doubt that I will be a more effective physician - and a more compassionate person - because of my experience with MEDiC and the Salvation Army. 282 Total Patients The Salvation Army Clinic opened in 1991 under the guidance of Dr. Murray Katcher, and provides a wide variety of services to homeless women and children.
