Honing on machining centers – Status<br />

• Two SPECHT machines with honing capability are running<br />

series production at VW Dalian,CN and BMW Steyr, Austria .<br />

Starting <strong>2013</strong> MAG Honing applications<br />

are in the industrial field<br />

• Honing test runs have been successfuly performed for various<br />

OEMs with für high potential for further orders<br />

• Various Honing procedures have been investigated and<br />

comparable results <strong>to</strong> the standard honing process could be<br />

achieved<br />

• Honing of thermal coated cylinders was successful,<br />

cooperation with SULZER Metco AG has been signed<br />

• “MAG-honed” engines show equal results compared <strong>to</strong><br />
