RECREATIONAL CLASSES AND PROGRAMS TOT-LOT PROGRAM (KINDERGARTEN-1ST GRADE) Children entering grades kindergarten through 1st are encouraged to participate in this program! Students will have the opportunity to cultivate new friendships, while participating in fun and educational activities. Participants will meet at noon at Guthridge Park Green Pavilion. A schedule of activities will be available to participants one week before each session begins. Limit: 45 Kids PLAYGROUND PROGRAM (2ND-5TH GRADE) Students entering grades 2nd through 5th next summer are welcome to join us for this program! Participants will have opportunities to go on field trips, listen and learn from exciting speakers, to participate in a community service project and various other fun activities. This program encourages developing friendships and group participation. Participants will meet each morning at Guthridge Park Green Pavilion. A schedule of activities will be available to participants one week before each session begins. Limit: 65 Kids YOUTH IN PARKS (6TH- 8TH GRADE) All students entering grades 6th-8th next summer are invited to join us for this program full of new experiences, challenges, and loads of fun! Participants will have the opportunity to do community service work in the parks and throughout the community, leadership development activities, and team building experiences. Projects may include: helping at a food pantry, serving meals at a homeless shelter, visiting retirement homes and much more. This program will also partner with the Hiawatha Public Library. Participants will be given a book at the beginning of the program that will coincide with a special event during the session. Students will meet at noon at Guthridge Park. Program will be supervised by one of the six summer employees. A schedule of activities will be available to participants one week before each session begins. Limit: 12 Kids Session Dates: First Session: June 15-July 3, 2009 Second Session: July 6– July 24, 2009 Third Session: July 27-August 14, 2009 Times: Tot-Lot: Noon to 4:00 pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday Playground: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday Youth In Parks: Noon to 4:00 pm on Tuesday and Thursday NEW!
