Alice (Sandy) Bennett, 82
BROOKFIELD – Alice (Sandy)
Bennett, 82, died peacefully at her
daughter’s home surrounded by her loving
family on Feb. 1,
2012. Alice was born
in Neal, Kansas July
29, 1929. Alice lived
in Brookfi eld for the
past 56 years. She
was pre-deceased by
her loving husband
Harvey H. Bennett
and her son, Phillip
Randy Bennett.
She was born the daughter of Ralph and
Naomi Digel of Kansas and was one of 5
sisters and 7 brothers. Alice is survived
by her loving and devoted children and
grandchildren, several great-grandchildren,
and nieces and nephews. Her
daughter Tracy McNeely and husband,
Craig, of Brookfi eld; sons Tommy Bennett
of West Warren, Timothy Bennett

WARREN - Robert W. Mitchell, 66,
of Nelson St., died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012
at the home of his sister. He leaves one
son, Robert A. Mitchell and his partner
Thomas McNichol of Boston; two daughters,
Brenda Mitchell and Nicole Lincoln
of Warren; one sister, Ruth J. Lizak of
Warren; one niece and one nephew of
Brimfi eld and his former wife, Donna
Mitchell of Warren. He was predeceased
by a brother, George A. Mitchell. “Uncle
Bob” was a dear friend to many and
will be sorely missed. He was born in
Springfi eld son of the late Robert G. and
Gertrude G. (Mackechnie) Mitchell and
was a lifelong resident of Warren. He
graduated from the former Warren High
School. Robert worked for many years

Gauthier of Charlton and Bonnie Burington
of California; one sister, Doreen

of Washington St., died Monday, Feb.
6, 2012 in the Redstone Rehabilitation
& Nursing Center in East Longmeadow.
He leaves four sons, Daniel Rozzen
and his wife Catherine of De Kalb, IL,
Ronald Rozzen and his wife Katherine
of West Warren, Frank M. Rozzen, Jr.
and his wife Nancy of West Warren and
Robert Rozzen and his wife Pam of Warren;
one brother Joseph Rozzen; one sister,
Florence Clark; 10 grandchildren; 16
great-grandchildren and several nieces
and nephews. He was predeceased by his
wife of 59 years, Stella J. (Lechowicz)

Bickwith. Alice was a loving, caring and
devoted wife, mother and grandmother
who loved all her animals, gardening,
and her doll collection. She was a giver
with a heart of gold and her home was
always open to everyone. She made everyone
who knew her laugh right up
to the end. Her unconditional love and
laughter will be sadly missed but never
forgotten.
There will be a private ceremony at
the convenience of the family. In lieu

outdoor sports and hunting and fi shing.
A Funeral Mass for Frank will be
held Saturday, Feb. 11 at 10:30 a.m. in
St. Stanislaus Church in West Warren. A
calling hour will be held prior to the funeral
from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Varnum Funeral
Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West
Brookfi eld. Burial will be held in the
spring in St. Paul’s Cemetery in Warren.
CDC offers tax return service
WARE - A family of four making
$59,137 or less may be eligible to have
their tax returns done for free at the
Quaboag Valley CDC. A volunteer
from the IRS-sponsored VITA Program
will be on hand on Saturday
afternoon, Feb. 11 to do tax returns
at no cost. Interested persons should
call the CDC at 413-967-3001 to verify
their eligibility and to schedule an
appointment. Appointments are on
a fi rst –come, fi rst-served basis. Appointments
may also be scheduled for
Feb. 25 or March 16 at this time.
