REGISTRATION FEES<br />

<strong>The</strong> following fees have been established for the 2002 All-State Festival:<br />

Vocal Entries $14.00<br />

Wind/Percussion/Piano $10.00<br />

Strings $10.00<br />

<strong>The</strong> maximum number of entries permitted by any one school shall be as follows:<br />

Wind & Percussion: 28 Strings: 28 Vocal: 28 - 7 singers per part<br />

Harp and piano entries do not count towards these limits.<br />

<strong>The</strong> release date of All-State chorus music by Jay’s <strong>Music</strong> is Wednesday, July 2 4, 2002 .<br />

<strong>Music</strong> will be delivered from Jay’s <strong>Music</strong> of Sioux City, IA, upon receipt of the registration<br />

form in the IHSMA office (if not previously ordered). If it does not arrive in a reasonable<br />

amount of time, please notify the <strong>Association</strong> office. <strong>Music</strong> packages will contain instructions<br />

regarding pronunciations and any special instructions for preparation. <strong>The</strong> patriotic<br />

numbers are NOT a part of the vocal registration fee. <strong>School</strong>s wishing to obtain<br />

additional copies of the choral music for directors, accompanists, or<br />

chorus are to call directly to Jay’s <strong>Music</strong> (1-800-798-5555; fax-712-255-<br />

7566) and bill those copies directly to their district. Include a P.O. #<br />

for such orders.<br />

Instrumental entries: students selected for participation in the All State Band or Orchestra<br />

will receive their festival music at the audition site upon notification of a successful<br />

audition. <strong>The</strong> All-State instrumental folders (band and orchestra) will contain the parts for<br />

“America, the Beautiful” and “<strong>The</strong> Battle Hymn”.<br />

REGISTRATION<br />

Registration forms are enclosed with this <strong>Bulletin</strong>. <strong>The</strong> registration deadline for All-State is<br />

September 12, 2002 . <strong>The</strong> Penalty Postmark Deadline is September 18, 2002. <strong>The</strong><br />

correct fee must accompany registration. Purchase orders are not accepted by<br />

the IHSMA. Registration forms are to be mailed to: Alan S. Greiner, Executive Director,<br />

<strong>Iowa</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> <strong>Music</strong> <strong>Association</strong>, PO Box 10, Boone, IA 50036-0010. All areas of the<br />

registration form MUST be completed. Incomplete registrations may be returned for completion.<br />

“Trades” in registration, one instrument for another, or one voice part for another, will be<br />

accepted until 5:00 p.m. of the Penalty Postmark Deadline (Sept 18). Trades will only be<br />

accepted with written verification (letter, e-mail or fax, no phone calls). <strong>The</strong>se trades<br />

carry no penalty.<br />

ERRORS IN REGISTRATION<br />

Clerical errors in registration (omissions, wrong instrument or wrong voice part indicated<br />

on the Registration Form) can be corrected after the Penalty Postmark Deadline (Sept. 19<br />

or later) by paying a $100.00 per student penalty. This penalty MUST be received in the<br />

IHSMA office by Friday, Oct. 18. If the penalty is not received by this date, an audition will<br />

not be permitted. This penalty must be paid by the school . Audition times for these stu-<br />
