REGISTRATION FEES
The following fees have been established for the 2002 All-State Festival:
Vocal Entries $14.00
Wind/Percussion/Piano $10.00
Strings $10.00
The maximum number of entries permitted by any one school shall be as follows:
Wind & Percussion: 28 Strings: 28 Vocal: 28 - 7 singers per part
Harp and piano entries do not count towards these limits.
The release date of All-State chorus music by Jay’s Music is Wednesday, July 2 4, 2002 .
Music will be delivered from Jay’s Music of Sioux City, IA, upon receipt of the registration
form in the IHSMA office (if not previously ordered). If it does not arrive in a reasonable
amount of time, please notify the Association office. Music packages will contain instructions
regarding pronunciations and any special instructions for preparation. The patriotic
numbers are NOT a part of the vocal registration fee. Schools wishing to obtain
additional copies of the choral music for directors, accompanists, or
chorus are to call directly to Jay’s Music (1-800-798-5555; fax-712-255-
7566) and bill those copies directly to their district. Include a P.O. #
for such orders.
Instrumental entries: students selected for participation in the All State Band or Orchestra
will receive their festival music at the audition site upon notification of a successful
audition. The All-State instrumental folders (band and orchestra) will contain the parts for
“America, the Beautiful” and “The Battle Hymn”.
REGISTRATION
Registration forms are enclosed with this Bulletin. The registration deadline for All-State is
September 12, 2002 . The Penalty Postmark Deadline is September 18, 2002. The
correct fee must accompany registration. Purchase orders are not accepted by
the IHSMA. Registration forms are to be mailed to: Alan S. Greiner, Executive Director,
Iowa High School Music Association, PO Box 10, Boone, IA 50036-0010. All areas of the
registration form MUST be completed. Incomplete registrations may be returned for completion.
“Trades” in registration, one instrument for another, or one voice part for another, will be
accepted until 5:00 p.m. of the Penalty Postmark Deadline (Sept 18). Trades will only be
accepted with written verification (letter, e-mail or fax, no phone calls). These trades
carry no penalty.
ERRORS IN REGISTRATION
Clerical errors in registration (omissions, wrong instrument or wrong voice part indicated
on the Registration Form) can be corrected after the Penalty Postmark Deadline (Sept. 19
or later) by paying a $100.00 per student penalty. This penalty MUST be received in the
IHSMA office by Friday, Oct. 18. If the penalty is not received by this date, an audition will
not be permitted. This penalty must be paid by the school . Audition times for these stu-
