EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ELECTIONS<br />

<strong>The</strong>re is one position on the Executive Committee up for election this fall. This position<br />

(high school vocal director) is open for election, term ending 2007. <strong>No</strong>mination blanks for<br />

this vacancy will be mailed August 23, 2002, and will be canvassed by the Election Board<br />

on September 6, 2002. <strong>The</strong> top two candidates, plus ties, will be named as nominees for<br />

this position. <strong>The</strong> Official Ballot, with the qualified nominees' names printed thereon, will<br />

be mailed to member schools on September 20, 2002. <strong>The</strong> chair of the Elections Board<br />

must receive the election ballots by October 4, 2002. <strong>The</strong> newly elected member will assume<br />

duties upon notification of election by the Executive Director.<br />

DISTRICT ADVISORY GROUP ELECTIONS<br />

District Advisory Group members are selected for a three-year term on a rotating basis.<br />

An administrator, an instrumental director, and a vocal director represent each district, in<br />

turn. This fall, the southern three districts elect their representatives to the DAG. <strong>The</strong><br />

rotation directs the Southwest District to elect a high school vocal director; the South<br />

Central District to elect a high school administrator (superintendent or principal); and the<br />

Southeast District to elect a high school instrumental director. Ballots for nomination and<br />

election will be included with the ballots for nomination/election for the Executive Committee<br />

positions.<br />

NFIMA IS FOR ALL MUSIC TEACHERS/ADJUDICATORS<br />

<strong>The</strong> national Federation Interscholastic <strong>Music</strong> <strong>Association</strong> presents an attractive package<br />

of benefits to persons involved with either the direction or adjudication of high school<br />

musicians.<br />

<strong>The</strong> $10 annual fee will provide members with an outstanding insurance package featuring<br />

general liability insurance while acting as a judge or director. Benefits also include reduced<br />
