from the Department of Education. MMS (BRIGHAM/PETERSON) to approve the registration<br />

and penalty deadlines as proposed by the director. PASSED<br />

MMS (DANNEN/MERZ) to move into closed session for discussion of the evaluation and<br />

the continuing contract of the Executive Director. PASSED After returning to open session,<br />

MMS (BRIGHAM/PETERSON) to extend a one-year contract, increasing the salary<br />

by 3% to $64,890.00, increase mileage allotment to $.26 per mile, and retain all other elements<br />

of the current contract. PASSED <strong>The</strong> Executive Director accepted the contract.<br />

With no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned.<br />

MINUTES OF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING<br />

July 1, 2002<br />

<strong>The</strong> Executive Committee of the <strong>Iowa</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> <strong>Music</strong> <strong>Association</strong> met at 2:00 p.m.,<br />

July 1, 2002, in Boston, MA, while in attendance at the National Federation Summer Convention.<br />

Members present were: Thomas Nugent, Villisca; Frank Brigham, Oelwein; Steve<br />

Colton, Marion; Tim Peterson, Charter Oak; and Tom Dannen, Truro. Jan Merz, Fort<br />

Dodge, was absent. Also in attendance was Alan S Greiner, Executive Director, who<br />

served as the recording secretary. President Nugent chaired the meeting.<br />

MMS(PETERSON/BRIGHAM) to approve the minutes of the April 17, 2002, meeting as<br />

printed and distributed. PASSED<br />

MMS(BRIGHAM/DANNEN) to approve the financial bills as submitted. PASSED<br />

Director Greiner presented the Year End Summary, highlighting each of the festivals of<br />

2001-2002.<br />

<strong>The</strong> director presented a detailed budget proposal for the 2002-2003 fiscal year.<br />

MMS(DANNEN/PETERSON) to approve the 2002-2003 Administrative Budget as presented.<br />

PASSED This motion increases the Solo/Small Ensemble Registration Fee to<br />

$7.50 per entry, increases the Secretarial and Custodial allowances for Solo/Small Ensemble<br />

Festival to $60 and $20 per center respectively and leaves all other registration<br />

fees and allotments at previous levels. For 2002-2003, these will be:<br />

REGISTRATION FEES:<br />

Marching Band - $75.00 All-State Vocal - $14.00<br />

All-State Instrumental - $10.00 Show/Jazz Choir - $65.00<br />

Jazz Band - $70.00 Piano - $9.00<br />

Solo/Small Ensemble - $7.50 Large Group Vocal - $45.00<br />

Large Group Instrumental - $50.00<br />
