Energy saving
with Bachmann products
Less power consumption = less harmful CO 2
emissions + lower energy costs
Did you know that electricity consumption:
· is the cause, through emissions from power stations, of almost half of
all energy-related greenhouse gas emissions in Germany
(Resulting from burning coal, oil and gas)
· by electrical equipment in standby mode or on hold, if extrapolated for the
whole of Germany, amounts to more than 14 billion kilowatt-hours per year
This roughly represents the output of two nuclear power stations.
So what can we do
· At home, by cutting idle power losses such as standby currents drawn
by TVs, satellite receivers, hi-fi systems, PCs, printers etc, we can save
6 TWh and € 810 million per year. Per household this amounts to a saving
of € 75-100 per year.
· In industry, business and the services sector, by reducing
idle power losses (standby currents drawn by IT and
communications equipment – PCs, monitors,
printers, copiers etc.) we can save 4 TWh and
€204 million per year.
Source: German Department of the Environment (Umweltbundesamt): „Stromsparen ist wichtig für
den Klimaschutz“ ['The importance of energy-saving for climate protection'], 22.8.2007
The German government also states in its
specific energy and climate-protection
programmes that measures must be put
in place to save energy wastage from idle
equipment, on both environmental and
economic grounds. To help contain the rising
energy consumption, Bachmann offers a range of
products with the potential for power saving.
As a rule, a payback time of between 1 and 2 years is
possible for efficient devices.
