Mr. Goodman recognized and acknowledged the members who served on
the Awards Committee and he encouraged everyone to help identify
potential future award winners. He turned the podium over to Mr. Gregg
for the presentation of the Chairman Special Recognition Awards and
Chairman Citations.
Special Recognition and Chairman Citation Awards. Mr. Gregg
presented a special recognition to T. Hardie Bowman, CPA-Corpus
Christi, for his commitment at the Corpus Christi Chapter to strengthening
the chapter’s relationship with local universities and encouraging the
schools to work more closely with the local business community to help
graduates begin their careers locally. A Special Recognition Award was
also presented to James D. Ingram IV, CPA-Brazos Valley, for his
longtime and passionate support of the profession with dedication to
TSCPA’s regulatory and legislative efforts, including service on the
TSCPA’s CPA-PAC Committee for eight years, serving as a key person
since 1998, and member of the TSCPA Legislative Advisory Committee.
Next, an award was presented to William J. Kelley, Jr., CPA-Permian
Basin, for his willingness and enthusiasm for involvement in his local
chapter, as well as the Society and his dedication of time and energy to
the accounting profession. Mr. Kelley is a member of the inaugural class
of TSCPA’s Leadership Development Institute. Mr. Gregg awarded a
Special Recognition to Anthony B. (“Tony”) Ross, Sr., CPA-Austin, for his
dedication beyond his work as a CPA in industry and for inspiring the
future of the accounting profession as an adjunct professor. Wendi C.
Taber, CPA-San Antonio, received a Special Recognition for her hard
work and dedication as chair of the Information Technology Committee
and for helping to develop resources for TSCPA’s members to share
technology advice. Finally, Mr. Gregg presented a Chairman Citation to
Patty Wyatt, a member of the TSCPA staff, for her outstanding support,
dedication and professionalism to the TSCPA. Ms. Wyatt serves in
several roles on some of TSCPA’s most critical initiatives, including the
