VIII. YEAR IN REVIEW. Immediate Past Chairman, Jeff Gregg, presented the
highlights of the year's activities and accomplishments. His theme for the
year was “HOME” – Helping Our Members Every Day. Some of the
many TSCPA initiatives and programs that were realized during the year
included, but were not limited to, the following:
� Development of a new Strategic Plan through 2014;
� Recruitment and retention of B&I members through continued
initiatives and resources;
� Creation of the Technology Committee and new technology
community on the TSCPA web site;
� Creation of the Ethics Task Force to examine the role of the
TSCPA Professional Ethics Committee as it relates to the AICPA
under joint ethics enforcement and the TSBPA to help protect and
promote professionalism. The task force made several major
recommendations;
� 813 new members were recruited in the membership campaign
from September 15 to December 31, 2010, and 404 new members
were recruited in the May “mini” campaign;
� A new member benefit was created in cooperation with the
Accounting CPE Network (ACPEN). The ACPEN Databank, a
professional information research tool, was launched that includes
short videos that answer specific professional issues that a
practitioner may have and allows members to stay up-to-date with
the latest industry issues;
� TSCPA was active during the 82 nd Session of the Texas
Legislature; and
� Mr. Gregg visited 18 of TSCPA’s 20 chapters during his term as
Chairman with one chapter visit scheduled for July.
Mr. Gregg expressed his gratitude to the members and the TSCPA staff
for their help and support during his year as Chairman and hoped that he
made them feel that TSCPA is their HOME.
