The option for individual features leaves nothing to be desired.<br />

The dimensions of the plant can be specified at the coustomer`s need - depending<br />

on the situation in the factory and on the planned product-range.<br />

The basic version of the <strong>TW</strong>-<strong>Mill</strong> can be delivered in its mobile variant - the portal<br />

then moves on rails over the workpiece. For the fixed <strong>TW</strong>-<strong>Mill</strong>, the workpiece is<br />

automatically infed on portal trolleys, moved through below the portal and<br />

discharged following processing.<br />

The quantity of units as well as the tool sites is freely eligible.<br />

The high-performance spindle, tool changer and further components were<br />

composed to an optimal costom-made solution.<br />

In the <strong>Technowood</strong> <strong>TW</strong>-<strong>Mill</strong> operating<br />

centre, any items like hard wood<br />

plates, solid wood plates, laminated<br />

timber, board stacks, sandwich plates<br />

and other panels can be processed rationally<br />

and accurately to the millimetre.<br />

Furthermore, the plant is designed for<br />

cutting off one or several single rods.<br />

Large elements like box beam, roof,<br />

ceiling and wall elements can be completely<br />

handled.<br />

The <strong>TW</strong>-<strong>Mill</strong> impresses by its modular<br />

and high-quality design. It is possible<br />

to freely determine the length of<br />

the facility, the passaging width, the<br />

opening height, the configuration and<br />

the number of units as well as many<br />

features more.<br />

Depending on the customer‘s wish, the<br />

cut-off portal <strong>TW</strong>-<strong>Mill</strong> can be put on<br />

rails as mobile version. Then, the portal<br />

moves above the workpiece during<br />

processing, while the workpiece is positioned<br />

on the processing table.<br />

For the stationary version of <strong>TW</strong>-<strong>Mill</strong>,<br />

the portal remains fixed, the portal trolley<br />

executing the axle movement in X<br />

direction. These so called „<strong>TW</strong>-Carriers“<br />

lead the workpieces through under the<br />

portal with its milling and spindle units.<br />

Of particular interest is the option for<br />

automatic infeed and discharge.<br />

Due to its stable, closed construction<br />

the <strong>TW</strong>-<strong>Mill</strong> is very precise in processing<br />

and achieves high natural resonant<br />

frequencies. The units can be moved<br />

away from the table area in their y<br />

axle. This enables comprehensive<br />

processing inclusive deep horizontal<br />

borings. The basic design of the portal<br />

holds a complete 5-axles unit. This<br />

24kW, water-cooled high-performance<br />

spindle automatically obtains the<br />

required tools from the tool changer.<br />

Tool speeds of max. 16000 rpm can be<br />

freely programmed for every tool.<br />

Optionally, a high-torque, 5-axles saw<br />

unit can be used, for example. This<br />

unit can host a saw blade with a maximum<br />

diameter of 1000 mm. It is able<br />

to tilt it to the horizontal. In addition to<br />

all conceivable cuts, this saw is capable<br />

of cutting jags, skew notches, grooves,<br />

slots, etc. The design spindle and saw<br />

mounting is low-collision - both units<br />

are positioned below the Z-arm.<br />

Tool changeover times are very short,<br />

as the spindle is able to get a new tool<br />

from the stack while the saw is still<br />

working. All axles are equipped with<br />

positive measuring systems, reference<br />

runs thus becoming unnecessary.<br />

The mobile <strong>TW</strong>-<strong>Mill</strong> resembles a very flexible version of the device. The workpiece<br />

is planted on a processing table. The portal then moves on guiding rails over this<br />

workpiece for processing. The customer is free to determine the length of the rails.<br />

The operating centre holds an accompanying switching cabinet and compressors.<br />

Only power supply is to be fed additionally. There is no need for carrying along<br />

subtle feeder components. The portal can be equipped with either a moveable<br />

suction system or connections for an external suction. For the external connection<br />

a moveable closing element - a so called „toad“ running in a „toad channel“ - can<br />

be offered optionally.<br />

The machine table can be designed differently as required: as closed table, as<br />

holms table, with scratching ground, with element transport system, with vacuum<br />

Bucky table, etc. Discharge of the residual timber can be done optionally below the<br />

table via a conveyor system.<br />

<strong>TW</strong>-Control<br />

The powerful multiple axles control<br />

A standard PC with Windows operating system is able to run the machine control.<br />

A real-time system monitors the maximum of 64 NC axles concerning their absolute<br />

synchronicity. The control interprets the worldwide standardized ISO code in<br />

accordance with DIN 660250. The flexibility of this control almost knows no limits<br />

with its additional functions and an integrated high-level language.<br />

Basic configuration standardly comprises automatic tool correction and practiceoriented<br />

tool and neutral point data management.<br />

We supply the control including the dynamic collision monitoring unit<br />

<strong>TW</strong>-DCD, which offers a comprehensive simulation for machine and production<br />

facilities. In case collision-monitored parts come below a certain spacing, a warning<br />

or error message is triggered stopping the travel lengths. Of course, <strong>TW</strong>-DCD<br />

shows the operator those parts of the plant which are heading for a collision.<br />

For the stationary version of <strong>TW</strong>-<strong>Mill</strong>, the portal remains fixed, the portal trolley<br />

executing the axle movement in X-direction. These so called „<strong>TW</strong>-Carriers“ lead the<br />

workpieces through under the portal with its milling and spindle units.<br />

All <strong>TW</strong>-Carriers are identical and designed as full-value servo axle, allowing for<br />

exact positioning. To prevent massive friction when repositioning the trolleys the<br />

supporting area can be lowered. The stop as well as the tensioners of the <strong>TW</strong>-Carrier<br />

can be retracted as well. This results in a free surface which enables flexible<br />

infeed and discharge backwards and forwards.<br />

Of particular interest is the option for automatic infeed and discharge. Chain cross<br />

conveyors implement infeed of the components. The infeed can be used as driven<br />

discharge as well. Otherwise the processed components are discharged by gravity<br />

via slanted roller rail with stop at its end.<br />
