The Dolomite mountains are the ideal place to test your limits. Keep fit<br />
and enjoy the view on the network of routes for all levels of ability, both<br />
for mountain and racing bikes.<br />
The Sellaronda Bike day will take place on 24 June and 16 September<br />
2012. For two days a year the four Dolomite passes - <strong>Gardena</strong>, Campolongo,<br />
Pordoi and Sella - are closed to cars so cyclists can enjoy this<br />
beautiful scenery undisturbed by motor vehicles. The Südtirol Sellaronda<br />
hero, the hardest MTB race in Europe, will take place on 23 June 2012.<br />

Sellaronda Mountainbike: put your bike on the gondola and ride around<br />
the Sella Group with a local guide. Riding clockwise, the tour is 58 km<br />
long and you can start in any of the four villages around the Sella Group.<br />
The elevation gain is about 3,400 m, and most descents are on single<br />
track. You can do it in either direction.<br />
Please note: there are several mountain bike rental shops in the valley.<br />
Ask for the new guide “Bike paradise <strong>Val</strong> <strong>Gardena</strong> and Alpe di Siusi - 33<br />
touring maps” at the Tourist Office or buy it on the online-shop.<br />
You can carry your bike on some lifts, the lift facility can require an extra<br />

Georeferenced MtB itineraries in and around <strong>Val</strong> <strong>Gardena</strong><br />
Ambitious bikers will have the possibility to discover a large and extensive<br />
area on their beloved bike: <strong>Val</strong> <strong>Gardena</strong>, the Alpe di Siusi and the<br />
Sellaronda with their breathtaking natural landscape are made just for<br />
this type of tour. Thus, forest roads and paths which are<br />
suitable for both hikers and MTB enthusiasts have been<br />
selected. As of now, all 33 georeferenced itineraries can<br />
be found on www.mtb-dolomites.com and downloaded<br />
on your own GPS device. On this website you will find furthermore: roadbook,<br />
tour information and detailed description of each tour, maps and<br />
altitude profiles. From now on it is forbidden to transit with bike where<br />
not especially indicated.<br />
