(H-7) Removal - Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee Don and Marsha Lowry resigned from the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee. Therefore, the Regional Ombudsman requests their removal from the roster. UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Carruth and unanimously carried, the Board removed Don and Marsha Lowry from the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee roster. (H-8) Removal Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority The removal of Carl Donahue from the Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority roster is requested for failure to meet attendance requirements as set forth in the Appointment Policy. UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Carruth and unanimously carried, the Board removed Carl Donahue from the Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority roster. (I) REPORTS (I-1) IFPCFA - Annual Report for 2010 The Board received the Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority's Annual Report for 2010 as part of the Agenda. (I-2) Tourism Cabarrus County Tourism Authority 2 nd Quarter 2010/2011 Update The Board received the Cabarrus County Tourism Authority 2 nd 2010/2011 report as part of the Agenda. Quarter (I-3) BOC - Receive Updates from Commission Members Who Serve as Liaisons to Municipalities or on Various Boards/Committees Commissioner Carruth advised the PBH (Piedmont Behavioral Healthcare) Board unanimously voted to seek legislative approval of a merger with Alamance-Caswell LME (Local Management Entity) . Vice Chairman Poole advised the preliminary WSACC (Water and Sewer Authority of ,Cabarrus County) statement has been emailed to the Board. She stated any questions from the Board regarding the WSACC budget should be sent to her or Commissioner Carruth prior to the next WSACC meeting. Chairman White advised the Health Alliance is working in conjunction wi th the North Carolina Division of Public Health and Division of Medical Assistance Community Care Network of North Carolina to help reduce infant mortality rates and to assist children with special health care needs. There was a coordination of efforts to provide dental care to uninsured and under insured children through volunteer dentist and hygienists. There are also dealing with MRSA (Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus) and the flu. He advised the Department of Social Services will be directly impacted by the Governor's budget. He also reported hotel/motel occupancy rates are increasing. (I-4) Request for Applications for County Boards/Committees Applications Boards/Committees: are being accepted for the following County • Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee • Animal Protection and Preservation Advisory Committee • Concord Planning and Zoning Commission (ETJ) • Council for a Sustainable Local Economy • Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority • Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee • Cabarrus County Youth Council

C . G . S . 143 - 3 1 8 . 11 (a) (3) and (4) UPON MOTION of Commi ssi oner Carruth, seconded by Vice Chairman Poole and unani mously carried, t h e Boar d moved to come out of closed session . Clarification of FY 2012 Funding for EDC (Economic Development Corporation) John Day, County Manager , repor ted John Cox wit h EDC inquired whether the FY 20 12 fundi ng level for them is $212 , 000 or the ori g i nal amount of $262,000. By consensus , i s $262,000. the Board agreed the FY 2012 funding amount for the EDC (M ) Adjourn UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Pool e, seconded by Commi ssioner Carruth, and unanimously carri ed, the meeting adjourned at 9 :18 p . m.
