In <strong>re</strong>sponse to the challenging financial and service<br />
p<strong>re</strong>ssu<strong>re</strong>s facing Police forces, <strong>Civica</strong> has<br />
developed a hosted <strong>re</strong>-<strong>deployable</strong> <strong>ANPR</strong> camera<br />
<strong>solution</strong> designed to provide a mo<strong>re</strong> flexible method<br />
of providing <strong>ANPR</strong> coverage.<br />
<strong>Civica</strong>'s hosted <strong>solution</strong> enables rapid deployment of cameras to support<br />
strategic operations or if a critical fixed camera location is out of service due to<br />
either communications or equipment failu<strong>re</strong>. The <strong>solution</strong> could also be used<br />
to provide permanent <strong>ANPR</strong> coverage on routes of particular inte<strong>re</strong>st whe<strong>re</strong><br />
hardwi<strong>re</strong>d communications infrastructu<strong>re</strong> is unavailable or would be costly to<br />
provide.<br />
<strong>Civica</strong>’s cloud-based <strong>solution</strong> provides a fast <strong>re</strong>sponse and <strong>re</strong>duced cost to<br />
deploying manpower-intensive <strong>ANPR</strong> assets such as <strong>ANPR</strong>-equipped traffic<br />
cars or portable <strong>ANPR</strong> equipment.<br />
Re<strong>deployable</strong> <strong>ANPR</strong> cameras could also be used to test potential fixed<br />
camera sites prior to committing to the full costs of implementing a fixed <strong>ANPR</strong><br />
site, and provide verification information on the <strong>re</strong>turn on investment.<br />
Council traffic departments could utilise the system to perform traffic counting<br />
or ad-hoc journey time surveys of routes of inte<strong>re</strong>st. All that would be <strong>re</strong>qui<strong>re</strong>d<br />
to deploy the <strong>ANPR</strong> cameras is a suitable lamp post or column with an unswitched<br />
power supply and 3G coverage.<br />
