RE: Young Voices Concert at the O2 Arena – Tuesday 1 st December 2009
Dear Parents and Carers,
I am writing with the final details and arrangements for the Young Voices Concert:
Tickets
Tickets have now arrived, and they are now available for you to collect them from
the school office. I have decided against sending them home in book bags as the
tickets are so expensive, I would not want them to be misplaced. If you are not
able to come into the school office, please ring the office so that we can make
alternative arrangements for getting the tickets to you.
For your information, our Choir position is in Section 106, Level 4, Rows U-Z.
T-Shirts / Dress
If a Young Voices t-shirt was ordered for your child, then they will be bringing it
home when they arrive, hopefully sometime this week!
If your child is not wearing an official t-shirt, then the only alternative is plain
white, no other coloured tops will be allowed. Any dark skirt or trousers will be
acceptable, so I suggest that the children wear bottom-half of their normal school
uniform.
I will expect the children to come to school wearing their Concert ‘outfit’ on
Tuesday 1 st December. They will therefore not need to change before we leave.
The children will keep their coats and bags with them at the arena and store them
under their chair seats.
Tiny Torches and Santa Hats!
Young Voices would like to encourage the children to bring a tiny battery operated
torch to add to the excitement of the lighting effects in the arena! ‘Torches with
beam destroy the starlight effect and will not be allowed – and will be
confiscated’.
The children are also asked to bring red and white Santa hats if they have them, to
add to the effect in selected songs.

Arrangements for the day
The children will have an earlier, normal lunch at school, then we will leave by
coach at 12:45. We will have an afternoon rehearsal in the arena, then children
will have a break before the concert. They will therefore need to bring a packed
tea in a disposable plastic bag. We will not be leaving the arena. The concert
commences at 7:00pm and is expected to finish at 9:15pm. We have been
instructed by Young Voices that all children will remain in their seats until the
audience has dispersed. Coaches will return to school at approximately 10:30pm,
where the children will be collected. Due to the scale of the event and the large
number of people involved, it will not be possible to make separate arrangements
for children to be collected from the arena itself.
Photo Permission
Thank you to the majority of you that returned the photo permission slip earlier in
the term. For those of you that didn’t, I will take it that unless I receive
notification that you do not consent to any photos being taken of your child,
then you agree to this.
And Finally……..
Please also note that no video cameras will be allowed into the arenas – they will
be confiscated!
