It is suggested that the majority <strong>of</strong> secondary <strong>dengue</strong> infections<br />

occur at a spacing <strong>of</strong> more th<strong>an</strong> 6 month.<br />

There is no specific treatment for DF, <strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong> DHF cases require<br />

hospitalization.<br />

A vaccine is not yet available. Some <strong>of</strong> the c<strong><strong>an</strong>d</strong>idates are<br />

in different stages <strong>of</strong> trials but so far, prevention <strong>of</strong> exposure<br />

remains the only alternative to prevent <strong>dengue</strong> tr<strong>an</strong>smission.
