Park City, UT
The Town of Park City, Utah
Nestled high in the Wasatch Mountains, the historic mining town of Park
City is unlike any other ski town in the U.S. Home to three world class ski
resorts, The Canyons, Deer Valley and Park City Mountain Resort, the town
of Park City offers four season recreation as well as sophisticated dining
and nightlife, all within a 32 mile drive from Salt Lake City International
airport. It’s no wonder the town of Park City was the virtual epicenter of the
2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games. Accessed by car, bus or shuttle
on Interstate 80, the Park City-area ski resorts are the easiest to get to from
downtown Salt Lake City.
Park City Info
Utah Olympic Sports Park
A History Lesson with a twist. It wasn’t that long ago that the 2002 Olympic Winter Games were hosted here. At the Utah
Olympic Park you can take guided or self-guided tours of the Olympic competition sites with access to the Joe Quinney Winter
Sports Center. The facility houses the Alf Engen Ski Museum, 2002 Eccles Olympic Winter Games Museum, retail shop and
theater. You can also take Bobsled and Zipline rides at the park. Both are a rush and are sure to give you bragging rights over
anyone who just watches that kind of stuff on the TV. 435-658-4200
Park City Ice Arena
A winter playland isn’t complete without ice skating. Whether you’re 5 or 105, lacing up the skates is a fun and great way to
enjoy an afternoon. 435-615-5700
Soldier Hollow
Soldier Hollow offers a great venue for both beginner and expert cross country skiers. Site of the 2002 Nordic Olympic Winter
games, it’s located 30 minutes outside of Park City in Midway within the Heber Valley.
If flying is more your speed, tubing flights take off daily. Enjoy 1,200-foot sliding lanes (Utah’s longest) while a sound system
keeps the crisp air warm with great music. Too busy hitting the slopes during the day Try it at night, under the lights. 435-
654-2002
Look and Learn
The Kimball Arts Center does a good job of finding great exhibitions, and it is always worth a peek if you feel like culturing up
the family. 435-649-8882
The Park City Historical Society and Museum is a good start if you’re interested in learning about Park City’s rich history.
Self-guided or docent lead tours will give you your first taste of this old mining town. 434-649-7457
The Utah Olympic Park houses two museums, the Alf Engen Ski Museum and the 2002 Eccles Olympic Winter Games
Museum. Both are sure to entertain and educate. 435-658-4200
Redstone at Kimball Junction
Just north of Park City lies the Redstone shopping area at Kimball Junction which has a personality of its own. It has a considerably
newer feel than Park City, but has a number of restaurants, galleries, and toy stores. There’s the Tanger Factory Oulets for brand names at
discount prices and the Redstone Shopping Center. Redstone also houses many of the big box and traditional mall stores. Much like Park
City, at Redstone, there’s enough to keep you busy.
