Instructions<br />

To make <strong>the</strong> center square on point, measure<br />

over 16” from <strong>the</strong> upper left corner on <strong>the</strong><br />

32” Fabric A square and mark. Measure<br />

down from <strong>the</strong> upper left corner of <strong>the</strong> 32”<br />

Fabric A square 16” and mark. Draw a diagonal<br />

line connecting <strong>the</strong> two points (Fig.<br />

1). Cut along <strong>the</strong> line. Repeat with <strong>the</strong> remaining<br />

three corners to create a square on<br />

point with <strong>the</strong> lighthouse print running vertical<br />

as shown with <strong>the</strong> arrow (Fig. 2). Trim<br />

this block to measure 21” square.<br />

Sew one 1-1/2” x 21” Fabric F strip to each side<br />

of <strong>the</strong> 21” Fabric A square. Sew one 1-1/2”<br />

x 23” Fabric F strip to <strong>the</strong> top and bottom of<br />

<strong>the</strong> 21” Fabric A square to complete <strong>the</strong> 23”<br />

center block.<br />

Sew one Fabric E triangle to each side of one 8-<br />

1/2” Fabric C square (Fig. 3). Sew one Fabric<br />

E triangle to <strong>the</strong> top and bottom of <strong>the</strong> 8-<br />

1/2” Fabric C square (Fig. 4). Trim <strong>the</strong> block<br />

to measure 11-3/4” x 11-3/4” to make one<br />

C/F Block.<br />

Repeat Step 3 to make eight C/F Blocks squares<br />

total.<br />

Repeat Step 3 to make four A/E Blocks, using<br />

<strong>the</strong> four 8-1/2” Fabric A squares and sixteen<br />

Fabric E triangles (Fig. 5).<br />

Repeat Step 3 to make four A/G Blocks, using<br />

<strong>the</strong> four 8-1/2” Fabric A squares and sixteen<br />

Fabric G triangles (Fig. 6).<br />

Repeat Step 3 to make eight Block B/F squares<br />

using eight 8-1/2” Fabric B squares and<br />

thirty-two Fabric F triangles (Fig. 7).<br />

Repeat Step 3 to make four Block D/H squares<br />

using four 8-1/2” Fabric D squares and sixteen<br />

Fabric H triangles (Fig. 8).<br />

Refer to <strong>the</strong> quilt photo and Figure 9 to lay out<br />

<strong>the</strong> twenty-eight 11-3/4” blocks, <strong>the</strong> 23”<br />

center block, fourteen side setting triangles<br />

and four corner setting triangles in diagonal<br />

rows. Sew <strong>the</strong> blocks and triangles toge<strong>the</strong>r<br />

to make <strong>the</strong> 64” x 79-1/4” quilt top.<br />

Sew one 6-1/2” x 79-1/4” Fabric D strip to each<br />

side of <strong>the</strong> quilt top. Sew one 6-1/2” x 76”<br />

Fabric D strip to <strong>the</strong> top and bottom of <strong>the</strong><br />

quilt top.<br />

Layer, quilt and bind as desired.
