Need For Vocations Here
Outlined To St. Clare Club
NORTH PALM BEACH — The
need for vocations to the priest,
hood and "religious life in the Di*
ocese of Miami was recently
outlined for members of St.
Clare's Women's Club by Palm
Beach Serra Club president,
Frank Lewis.

to the spiritual needs
of some 350,000 Catholics in
South Florida,, Mr. Lewis urged
parents to pruide a home
where vocations would be. encouraged
and nurtured.
He also suggested that families
pray together for vocations.
No one 'except the priest can
"call Christ to the altar during
the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass,"
he said, "nor, other than a
priest, is there anyone in this
world, no matter how successful,
who can forgive one mortal
sin or even a venial sin."
The main objectives of the
Serra Club to foster vocations
and assist in the education of
young men for the priesthood;
and the furthering of Catholicism
through enduring
: friendship among Catholic

KEY BISCAYNE — A Valentine
dessert-bridge sponsored by
St. Agnes Woman's Club will be
held at 1 p.m. on Thursday,
Feb. 9 at the Key Biscayne Hotel.

WEST PALM BEACH — The
annual Corporate Communion
will be observed by members of
St. Ann Rosary Altar Society at
8 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 5 in St.
Ann Church.
Father Peter O'Donnell, S.J.,
pastor, will speak Jo members
during the breakfast which will
follow at 9 a.m. at the George
Washington Hotel.

Charlotte Poissant, president of
the organization.
All ladies in the parish have
been invited to join group sewing
meetings held every Thursday
morning and Friday afternoon.

motherhouse, will be known in
religion as Sister Mary Rosaria.
A native of Englewood, N. J.,
Sister Rosaria was graduated
from St. John the Apostle School
and Notre Dame Academy,
where she was valedictorian of
her class last June.

for distribution to needy
Cuban refugees.

Catolico, diocesan Spanish
center in downtown Miami.
Plans have been announced
for a covered dish supper Feb.
