THREE GOALS
The 1961 campaign will have
three goals — a permanent Dining
Hall for seminarians at St.
John Vianney Seminary; a new
and adequate home for dependent
children and a Diocesan
Laymen's Retreat House.
Because of the magnitude of
the campaign, parishes have
been grouped together for
training purposes. Meetings
will be held at the following
places on the dates designated
for members of the parishes

Centro $1,000
The National Council of Catholic
Women has donated the
sum of $1,000 to aid in the program
for Cuban refugees at Centro
Hispano Catolico, diocesan
Spanish center.
Mrs. Arthur Zepf of Toledo,
0., president of the NCCW, presented
the check to Sister Miriam,
O.P., superior of the Dominican
Sisters who staff the
Centro, during Tuesday's sessions
of the National Resettlement
Conference for Cuban
Refugees.
The Council's national president
was accompanied to the
meeting by Miss Margaret Mealey
of Washington, D.C., executive
director of NCCW and Mrs.
Edward McHugh, NCCW Immigration
Chairman.

FORT LAUDERDALE —
Mrs. Mary Beth Gannon was
elected president of the Confraternity
of Christian Doctrine
in St. Anthony parish at a recent
meeting. Other new officers
are Paul J. Meiners, vicepresident;
Mrs. Agnes Scannell,
secretary, and Joseph. Sander,
treasurer.
The group recently completed
a survey of Catholic students
who attend public high school
in the area. The students are
encouraged to participate regularly
in the CCD religious instruction
classes. The parish
study club will soon be enlarged.
