Student Engagement and<br />
Leadership<br />
The Department of Student Engagement<br />
and Leadership, Nestor Hall 116, offers<br />
a variety of co-curricular activities that<br />
enhance students’ educational experiences<br />
and aid in the development of lifelong skills.<br />
Through this department, students can<br />
access opportunities to practice leadership<br />
and , community service and to enjoy<br />
social interactions with diverse cultures and<br />

Housing<br />
<strong>Columbus</strong> <strong>State</strong> does not provide campus<br />
housing, but the Student Engagement and<br />
Leadership Department (Nestor Hall 116)<br />
does disseminate information it receives on<br />
off-campus housing opportunities. This information<br />
includes postings for apartments<br />
or homes to share and for roommates. Stop<br />
by the office or call (614) 287-2637 for more<br />
information.<br />
Student Ambassador Program<br />
The Student Ambassador Program was<br />
developed to give students the opportunity<br />
to participate in various public relations<br />
and recruiting activities at <strong>Columbus</strong><br />
<strong>State</strong>. The primary objectives of the<br />
program are to provide students with basic<br />
leadership training and to allow students<br />
the opportunity to work in a number of<br />
departments on campus. <strong>Community</strong><br />
outreach and community service are also<br />
components of the Student Ambassador<br />
Program. Applications for the program are<br />
available during spring semester.<br />
The <strong>Columbus</strong> <strong>State</strong> Leadership<br />
Society<br />
The mission of the <strong>Columbus</strong> <strong>State</strong><br />
Leadership Society (CSLS) is to encourage<br />
students to develop and utilize their<br />
leadership skills by practicing them—not<br />
only within the college setting, but in the<br />
larger community as well. CSLS challenges<br />
and supports first-year students by providing<br />
them with diverse educational opportunities<br />
to become successful. The focus of the<br />
society is on LEADERSHIP rather than on<br />
academic achievement per se as it creates<br />
countless and varied opportunities for<br />
