immigrant who lives in America without a vote. This discussion has implications, as well, in
TESTIFY TO THE PROBLEM OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN--“The Clothesline Project
(CLP) is a program started on Cape Cod, MA, in 1990 to address the issue of violence against
women. It is a vehicle for women affected by violence to express their emotions by decorating a
shirt. They then hang the shirt on a clothesline to be viewed by others as testimony to the
problem of violence against women. With the support of many, it has since spread world-wide.
See this list of videos on YouTube. View this Google Image Search,” according to
http://www.clotheslineproject.org/. Virginia Wesleyan has been participating in this project for a
number of years, most recently through Dr. Marganski’s classes which address domestic
violence issues. You can participate in the project by making a shirt from Oct. 15-26 in the
Community Foundation to help children in our surrounding neighborhoods succeed in school.
PUMPKINS FOR SALE--If you are looking for a place to buy a pumpkin AND do good works,
Bow Creek preschool, a non-profit preschool in Virginia Beach, has a pumpkin patch fund raiser
proceeds from the fund raiser are split between the reservation and the school. It is win-win.
Students in Robin Takacs Portfolio class helped to unload 2,600 pumpkins this week, so it is on
good authority that we know the pumpkins have excellent prices (much cheaper than at the
grocery store) and they are beautiful. Some are HUGE! DIRECTIONS: Bow Creek Preschool,
